Preventing Memory Exploits Using Programmable Row Swizzling, N/A
Preventing Memory Exploits Using Programmable Row Swizzling, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
Row hammering is a type of memory exploit where a malicious application repeatedly causes transistors in a row of cells within a memory to rapidly turn on and off in particular patterns. If a row is hammered enough times, it is possible to change data stored in the adjacent rows, leading to malfunctions, shutdowns, or security breaches. This disclosure describes techniques that make it much harder for an attacker to find row-hammer patterns that can compromise a DRAM. Per the techniques, each DRAM has dedicated, programmable row-address swizzling (logical-to-physical address mapping) which changes when the machine reboots. The per-DRAM swizzling …

Current Software Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN) solutions typically utilize a Service Level Agreement (SLA) definition in conjunction with policy to match and classify traffic types in order to direct traffic over SDWAN tunnels. An SLA definition can include values of loss, latency, and jitter, which are measured via a Bi-directional Forwarding Detection (BFD) channel that exists between two Transport Locators (TLOCs). These values collectively represent the liveliness of a network including the status of the BFD link. In current implementations, BFD control messages are sent with a high priority Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) marking, such as '48'. SLA …

In a liquid based ink printing process, the low ink consumption, such as in continuous low coverage
printing or complete inactivity of the ink, is limiting fresh ink flow to the ink tank. As a result, the
same ink solution from the tank is used multiple times and stays in the tank for a long time. That
may cause to damage of the ink particles and contamination accumulation in the ink tank, which
leads to Print Quality (PQ) deterioration such as optical density drops, white spots, etc.
Described technic provides an automatic and adaptive method to increase the refreshment of …
