The Effect Of Cannabidivarin On T-Cell Line Proliferation And Activation, Wilai Laolee Jan 2023

The Effect Of Cannabidivarin On T-Cell Line Proliferation And Activation, Wilai Laolee

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

The non-psychotropic cannabinoid cannabidivarin (CBDV) is a propyl analog of cannabidiol (CBD). Although it was discovered that CBD had immunosuppressive properties, little is known about CBDV in this regard. To investigate the effects of CBD and CBDV on T-cell activation and proliferation, two T-cell lines—Jurkat and MOLT-4—were treated with the compounds at different doses. Utilizing the WST-1 assay (cell viability) and the Annexin V/PI staining assay (apoptosis test), cell cytotoxicity was investigated. Carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester (CFSE) staining was used to examine the proliferation of cells. Cell cycle kits and flow cytometry were used as the analysis technique to examine …

'Development Of A Biodegradable, Mineralized Nanocellulose Scaffold For Osteochondral Tissue Engineering', Sairash -

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Osteochondral lesions, affecting both the articular cartilage and the subchondral bone, present complex mechanical and biochemical challenges. Osteochondral construct development holds promise for forming tissue at the transition zone to bone. This study introduces a strategic bilayer polymeric hydrogel by combining bacterial nanocellulose, gelatin, and alginate in one layer, while the other layer was the same three biopolymers mineralized with nanohydroxyapatite through alternating incubation cycles of calcium chloride (CaCl2) and disodium phosphate (Na2HPO4). Furthermore, the oxidized bacterial nanocellulose was effectively mineralized with calcium and phosphorus, as confirmed by EDX analysis. Remarkably, both layers of the biphasic hydrogel demonstrated excellent cytocompatibility …

Differential Protein Expression Profile In Encapsulated Follicular-Pattern Thyroid Tumors, Nguyen Phan Xuan Truong

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Diagnosing encapsulated follicular-patterned thyroid tumors such as Invasive Encapsulated Follicular Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (IEFVPTC), Non-invasive Follicular Thyroid Neoplasm with Papillary-like Nuclear Features (NIFTP), and Well-Differentiated Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential (WDT-UMP) is challenging due to their morphological and molecular similarities. This study aimed to investigate the protein distinctions among these three thyroid tumors and uncover biological insights into tumorigenesis through proteomic analysis. We also evaluated the practicality and clinical value of a protein biomarker panel defined by machine learning for identifying IEFVPTC, initially using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples. We performed a total shotgun proteome analysis, quantifying the expression of …

The Influence Of Host Blood Hla Typing To Tumor Microenvironment In Egfr Mutated Advanced Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, Korakot Srianuwattipong

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Background: Advanced non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR mutation, treated with EGFR-targeted therapy, exhibits varying disease control periods associated with the tumor microenvironment. It is anticipated that differences in the tumor microenvironment arise from variations in the HLA subtypes of individuals. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the relationship between the tumor microenvironment and HLA subtypes. Method: 100 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer harboring EGFR mutations and treated with EGFR-targeted therapy at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital had been enrolled, blood samples were collected for HLA typing, and tissue specimens were subjected to immunohistochemistry staining for PD-L1 and …
