2-Nitro thioglycosides are versatile building blocks for amino sugar synthesis. Nitro moiety at C2 position acts as stable surrogate for amino group and can be converted at late state of the synthesis. In this work, chemical glycosylation of 2-nitro thioglycoside donors were investigated. 2-nitro thioglycosides were prepared from tri-O-acetyl-D-galactal which underwent functional group manipulations and nitration to obtain 2-nitrogalactal in 47% over 4 steps. Then, Michael additions of 2-nitrogalactal with various type of S-nucleophiles were performed by using NaDTC as activator to produce 2-nitrothioglycoside donors in 46–85% yield. The inorganic/organic selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs)/pullulan derivative hybrid material was obtained using a simple and green strategy. The chemical structure of pullulan, folic acid decorated cationic pullulan (FA-CP) was designed for stabilizing SeNPs. The SeNPs stabilized by FA-CP were observed after the addition of a cysteine hydrochloride solution into the solution mixture of Na2SeO3 and FA-CP. The results suggested that the concentrations of cysteine and stabilizer were the key factors to control the shape and morphology of SeNPs. The spherical SeNP/FA-CP was found in ratio of Na2SeO3 to cysteine was 1:1. It exhibited low toxicity against normal cells while higher toxicity …

A total of 50 endophytic actinomycetes isolated from fourteen plant species collected from six provinces of Thailand including Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Pathom, Prachinburi and Suphan Buri were taxonomically studied relied on their phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, and the 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The isolates were identified as members of the family Streptomycetaceae involving Streptomyces (22 isolates), and the family Micromonosporaceae including Micromonospora (25 isolates), Plantactinospora (1 isolate) and Polymorphospora (1 isolate). Based on phenotypic characteristics, whole genome sequence analysis and DNA-DNA hybridization, 5 novel actinomycete species were proposed consisting of Micromonospora globbae (strain WPS1-2T), Micromonospora azadirachtae (strain …

หนึ่งในปัญหาของการใช้เม้าส์ที่ไม่เหมาะสมกับร่างกายของผู้ใช้งานคือ โรคเรื้อรังในอุโมงค์ข้อมือ (Carpal tunnel syndrome) เนื่องจากเม้าส์นั้นมิได้ออกแบบให้คำนึงถึงสรีระของมือและข้อมือในกรณีที่ต้องจับเม้าส์เป็นเวลานาน นอกจากนั้นเม้าส์การยศาสตร์ (Ergonomics mouse) ยังไม่เป็นที่นิยม เพราะทำให้การใช้งานช้าลง รวมถึงการขาดความรู้และเข้าใจถึงผลกระทบจากการใช้เม้าส์ที่ไม่เหมาะสม ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อสมรรถนะการใช้งานของเม้าส์การยศาสตร์ได้แก่ ขนาดและองศาการวางมือ เปรียบเทียบขนาดเม้าส์เม้าส์ต่อมือและองศาการวางมือของเม้าส์ โดยสร้างเม้าส์ต้นแบบจาก 3D Printer 6 ตัว โดยมีขนาดเล็กและขนาดใหญ่ ที่ซึ่งทำมุมเอียง 0, 15, 25 องศา ทดสอบตาม ISO 9241-9 กับผู้เข้าร่วมการทดลองจำนวน 10 คน มีความยาวฝ่ามือในช่วง 13.5-19.2 ซม. ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ขนาดเม้าส์ 7.9-10.9 ซม. และองศาการวางมือในช่วง 0, 15, 25 องศา ไม่ส่งผลต่อสมรรถนะการใช้งานของเม้าส์ที่ระดับ 0.05 แต่นำสัดส่วนระหว่างเม้าส์ต่อมือหาความสัมพันธ์กับสมรรถนะผู้ใช้งานมีความสัมพันธ์แบบพาราโบลาและค่าสัดส่วนเท่ากับ 0.57-0.60 มีสมรรถนะการใช้งานดีที่สุด ดังนั้นในการเลือกใช้เม้าส์ควรคำนึงถึงขนาดมือของผู้ใช้งาน

This research was to investigate the effect of palladium-based catalyst and supporting materials for direct ethanol fuel cell in alkaline media. The studied variables were the secondary metal (gold, ruthenium, and tungsten), types of support (carbon Vulcan, carbon nanotubes). Regarding the secondary metal incorporation, Pd99W1/C resulted in a significant enhancement in activity and stability for ethanol and methanol electrooxidation. In contrast with glycerol oxidation, Pd99Au1/C exhibited a better activity and stability than other catalysts. With the surface functionalization of carbon nanotube support, it was clear that the acid oxidation of carbon nanotube gave a poor palladium catalytic performance for ethanol …

Direct arylation polymerization (DArP) is a new palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling method to synthesize conjugated copolymers. This reaction can generate C-C bonds between simple arenes and dibromoarenes, without passing through organometallic intermediates. In this work, we synthesized new donor-acceptor conjugated copolymers based on 2′-octyl-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (OEDOT) donor coupled with 3,5-dibromo-1,2,4-triazole, 4,7-dibromo-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole, 4,7-dibromo-5,6-difluoro-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole, 4,7-dibromo-1,2,3-benzotriazole, 4,7-dibromo-2-octyl-1,2,3-benzotriazole, 1,4-dibromo-2,5-(tert-butyldimethylsilanyl oxy)benzene, 5,7-dibromothieno[3,4-b]pyrazine and 5,7-dibromo-2,3-diphenyl thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine to become polymers P1-6 and P9-10, respectively in various range of yields of 16-88%. Polymer P7 was prepared from deprotection followed by oxidation of polymer P6. These copolymers exhibited various UV-Visible absorptions with λmax values ranging from 328 to 958 nm.

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), a malignancy transformed from cholangiocytes in the bile ducts is more common in Asia and has the highest incidence rate in Thailand. CCA is an aggressive malignancy which has high mortality, high recurrence rate and poor prognosis due to late diagnosis and lack of effective treatment, therefore identification of novel therapeutic targets could lead to the development of more efficient therapy. CCA is associated with chronic inflammation that could upregulate Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) in CCA cells. This dissertation presents BoundWarden, a novel runtime spatial memory safety enforcement technique that comprehensively detects and prevents buffer overflow and other out-of-bound errors in buffers on stack, heap, and BSS and data segments of memory. BoundWarden leverages the ubiquity of multi-core processors by offloading most of the works to a dedicated bound checking thread, which performs bound checking and manages metadata, thus reducing the runtime overhead. Since BoundWarden stores base and bound of buffers in a dedicated bound table, the memory layout of programs remains unchanged, thus preserving compatibility with existing libraries and binaries. This paper analyze the cash flow timing ability of mutual fund investors both non-tax-saving and tax-saving funds which have constraints such as lock-up period to block investor's ability to make cash flow timing, after controlling for the hindsight effect. We analyze the sample of Thai mutual funds in the period of 2006-2017.
We find that investors have bad timing ability and make return underperformance. The tax-saving funds that have investment constraints to block investor's timing ability have better timing ability and tends to have smart money effect and make return over performance. Background: Rapid screening and intervention are the keys to successful early treatment of stroke. In Thailand, the conventional FAST stroke screening tool has generally been used by triage nurses to promptly detect acute stroke. However, the FAST score has a limitation in detecting posterior circulation stroke. ไมโครสปอรีน-ไลก์ อะมิโน แอซิด (MAAs) เป็นกลุ่มของสารเมแทบอไลต์ทุติยภูมิ สังเคราะห์โดยจุลินทรีย์และสาหร่ายหลายชนิด สารกลุ่มนี้มีหน้าที่สำคัญในการคัดกรองรังสียูวี และยังมีหน้าที่อื่นๆ ได้แก่ การต้านอนุมูลอิสระ ปกป้องเซลล์จากภาวะเครียด และควบคุมการออสโมซิส โดยไมโครสปอรีน-2-ไกลซีน (M2G) เป็นหนึ่งในสารกลุ่ม MAAs ที่มีความสามารถในการต้านอนุมูลอิสระมากกว่าสารอื่นๆ ในกลุ่มเดียวกัน ดังนั้นจึงเป็นที่สนใจที่จะเพิ่มการผลิต M2G เพื่อนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมความงาม และเวชสำอาง ในการศึกษานี้ประสบความสำเร็จในการแสดงออกของยีนในชีวสังเคราะห์ M2G (Ap3858-3855) จาก Aphanothece halophytica ในไซยาโนแบคทีเรียน้ำจืด Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 จากการวิเคราะห์การถอดรหัสของยีน Ap3858-3855 พบว่า ยีนทั้ง 4 ยีนนี้เป็น monocistronic mRNA heterologous expression ของยีน Ap3858-3855 ใน S. elongatus พบว่าทุกยีนมีการแสดงออกมากขึ้นภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ NaCl ยีน Ap3857 แสดงออกเพิ่มมากที่สุด 2.39 ± 0.25 เท่า และภายใต้ภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ KCl ยีน Ap3856 แสดงออกเพิ่มมากที่สุด 3.70 ± 0.35 เท่า ระดับการแสดงออกของยีนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับภาวะเครียดออกซิเดชั่น (sodB, cat และ tpxA) ในเซลล์แสดงออก พบว่าภายใต้ภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ NaCl มีเพียงยีน tpxA แสดงออกมากขึ้น 4.58 ± 0.58 เท่า ขณะที่ภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ KCl กระตุ้นการแสดงออกของ sodB และ tpxA 4.09 ± 0.86 และ 11.81 ± 1.02 เท่า ตามลำดับ ส่วนการแสดงออกของยีนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสารออสโมไลท์ ได้แก่ Synpcc7942_0808 และ …

Silver (Ag) and Manganese (Mn) catalysts were loaded on TiO₂ and Al₂O₃ supports on quartz wool that were tested for the oxidation of mixed Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) of benzene, toluene, and xylene in nonthermal plasma corona discharge. The total feed concentration of VOCs was fixed at 100 ppm. The catalyst located between the pin and plate electrodes with a constant gap distance of 15 mm and the pin and plate plasma reactor had an inside diameter of 9 mm. Copper oxide (CuO) loaded mesoporous ceria (CeO₂) and Copper oxide (CuO) loaded mesoporous ceria-zirconia (CeO₂-ZrO₂) catalysts are successfully synthesized for preferential oxidation of CO (CO-PROX) and autothermal steam reforming of methanol (ASRM). Alpha-mangostin (AM) is in the xanthone group and a main compound extracted from mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana Linn.). It is effective in antioxidant, antimicrobe and anticancer activities. However, the underlying side effects on normal cells, especially in hematopoiesis have not been investigated completely. In this research, it was aimed to elucidate the possible effects of AM on hematopoiesis using zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos as a representative model. The results showed that AM could cause the zebrafish embryonic mortality with the concentration dependent manner. The median lethal concentration (LC50) of AM at 72 h was 5.75 ± 0.26 µM. The aim of this study was to explore autochthonous strains having properties in reduction of brown color in moromi and evaluate their potential as biological mean for de-colorization of soy sauce. The autochthonous microbes associated to moromi fermentation under different manufacturing conditions were evaluated using both the culture plating and Reverse transcriptase-nested PCR-DGGE (RevT-nested PCR-DGGE) methods. By culture plating, Bacillus (43.17%) and Staphylococcus (33.09%) were isolated from every fermentation stages of all samples. Yeast Candida spp. was frequently detected (46.67%) in most samples. RevT-nested PCR-DGGE revealed the different results, as 29.73% of major bacterial DGGE band belonged to lactic acid …
