The main objective of this study is to develop a computer model to predict the food stores which individual consumers choose for the major part of their grocery purchases. It is worthwhile to develop such a predictive model for two reasons. In the first place, it is useful to be able to predict consumer store choices for purposes of retail planning. Secondly, a working predictive model illuminates the main bases of the consumer spatial choice process and thus adds to our understanding of urban spatial organization.

Previous studies in different countries have unfolded consequential relationships between a number of socio-economic factors and voting behavior. Ethnicity, religion, trade or profession were among the most useful voter characteristics in explaining party preference. While hypotheses of voting behavior for Canada are also prolific, most of them were based upon local studies. The present study of 53 selected incorporated cities in 1963 general election attempts to test such hypotheses at the national level. The majority of the proposed independent variables were derived from the previous case studies. The hypotheses were tested by means of a computerized multiple regression analysis.

This study develops a locational model for open space within the urban community based on the open space standards set down by the Community Programs Division of the Department of Education for the Province of Ontario and utilized by many of the municipalities throughout Ontario. A theoretical deductive locational model was developed and applied to the cities of Kitchener-Waterloo to determine the locational and acreage adequacy of parks within a given set of standards. The major objective of this thesis is to develop a location model for golf facilities in Waterloo and Wellington counties. This is achieved by approaching the problem empirically within a systems framework. A description of the physical sites, the population, and the activity is presented, and then the demand for the activity is established by using two techniques: an income regression model, and a minimum population requirements model.

The investigation primarily concerns contemporary geomorphological features and processes in the Upper Indus Basin, Past work, and theories of the denudation chronology of the region are described, and the broad climatic and geological setting. The bulk of the work examines characteristics of weathering, slopes and mass-movements, glacial and fluvial features in the Biafo Gyang area of the Central Karakoram. The nature and role of glacier surges and natural damming in the region are discussed.
