For my Graduating Presentation and Honors Thesis, I created a piece based on my two sister and me, as I found myself yearning for our moments together while growing up but recognize that we will never be that age and all together again. The idea of being apart is scary, but inevitable, and rather than dwell on the idea of it, I wanted to create a piece of reflection and growth for all three of us.

This video recording showcases my solo viola recital at Western Michigan University. This performance fulfilled the senior recital requirements of the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, as well as the honors thesis requirements of the Lee Honors College. The purpose of the recital was to demonstrate the skills I learned as a music performance student at Western. It showcased many of the pieces I worked on during my time there, including the prelude and fugue to J. S. My honors thesis focused on my work as the Technical Director for Sweeney Todd and the process of turning a scenic design into a safe, buildable, and functional production. Through this project, I explored how technical direction is not only about constructing scenery, but also about drafting, budgeting, problem-solving, and adapting when challenges arise. One of the most important moments in the process was a set change that happened several weeks into the build because of safety concerns, which forced me to rethink parts of the design and respond practically. Introduction: Improvements to education are currently being studied, as lectures alone have been shown to lack the ability to engage students effectively. Research has shown that simulation-based methods are promising new methods; however, they still leave room for improvement in the area of motivation. This program was introduced to introduce gamification to the WMed EIH2 program during the simulation section. Determinants Of Evaluation Demand In The United States Federal Government: A Sequential Mixed Methods Study With Hierarchical Linear Modeling, Ruqayyah Abu-Obaid

This dissertation examines the factors that influence demand for evaluation in the federal government of the United States. Although evaluation has become a central element of evidence-based policymaking, limited empirical research explains what drives variation in evaluation activity across federal agencies. The study addresses this gap through a sequential exploratory mixed-methods design that integrates qualitative document analysis with quantitative hierarchical (panel) data modeling. Hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) was employed to analyze longitudinal data from 23 federal agencies (2008–2024), accounting for both within- and between-agency variation over time and providing more accurate estimates of factors influencing evaluation demand.
