Statement of Problem

The study of conditions required for the electrodeposition of a nickel-tin alloy from baths other than the fluoride bath and the acetate bath was undertaken. The research included the correlation of thermodynamic and kinetic properties of electrode processes fro the electrodeposition of the alloy desired.

The research also included the determination of the formula and formation constant of the nickel tartrate complex. The tartrate ion was a possible constituent in a bath for the electrodeposition of the alloy.

The delta area of Missouri comprises the seven counties in the southeastern part of the state. These counties form the only area in Missouri where cotton is widely produced. Although cotton was grown in the region as early as 1850, the delta area did not become a major cotton producer until 1922. For a number of years prior to 1922 certain elements, including soil and topography, climate, forest clearance, land drainage, and the influx of farmers prior to 1920, formed a potential favorable to large-scale cotton production, yet none occurred. Investigation Of Factors Influencing The Use Of Wet Strength Resin On Unwashed Nssc Pulp, James L. Latta

Paper Engineering Senior Theses

To improve the wet strength of paper, colloidal dispersions of thermosetting wet strength resins are added to the papermaking furnish. However, these resins show low efficiency when applyed to unwashed neutral sulfite semichemical corrugating medium. To determine the reason for this, experiments were made in which corrugating mill stock was made into handsheets using Paramel HE and Kymene 557 wet strength resins.

It was found that Kymene 557 gave poor wet strength when used at levels less than .67%, but that further addition brought increasingly larger gains. The wet strength attained with Paramel HE showed a rapid rise up to …

It seems a thoroughly safe opinion to believe that among French-speaking Canadians nothing in American literature has greater celebrity than Longfellow's Evangeline. In Canada it is doubtless considered unquestionably the poet's chef-d'oeuvre, the authentic and moving account of the tragedy of a people, the dispersion of the Acadians in 1755.

I have long been interested in applying rate-reading techniques to the reading of foreign languages. At one time a student who had made an excellent record in Reading Workshop brought her French books into the reading laboratory and succeeded in raising her French reading rate. But I had my first opportunity to apply these techniques to a group during our 1966 winter term. Although we were handicapped by a lack of material and by my own inexperience in working with languages other than English, results were encouraging.

Research points out that many pupils do not transfer reading and study skills to their content subjects. Therefore, the subject matter teacher must work on these skills which are pertinent to his subject.!
