Originally published as a series in the Madisonville Messenger, 1931 and reprinted, copied and published in 1974 by Patricia Brown Harris, with a revised index.

Another edition condensed and published by Helen Baker Pearse in 1958 has title: Early history of Hopkins County, Kentucky.
