The Colonelette

On September 22, 1949, Shirley Cupp, Irma Beisel, Frances Stuckey and Mr. Hilary Bufton Jr. met in a coffee shop in downtown Kansas City to incorporate the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). Jean Fulkerson helped start The Kentucky Colonels Chapter on 3 June 1964 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Twenty-six women met at Western Hills Restaurant and elected Linda Sidebottom as the first president. Besides providing professional development opportunities for local businesswomen, the Chapter gave scholarships to women furthering their education, and held social and recognition events throughout the year. A Comparison Of Selected Habitats Of Fallow Deer (Dama Dama) In The United States, William Fowler

Many of the facets of fallow deer introduction to the United States have previously received considerable attention. Significant factors concerning naturalization have been studied in part, but no previous attempt has been made to investigate the range of this animal nor to compare the various habitats into which it has been introduced with its native land. This study was undertaken for that purpose. An attempt was made to investigate naturalization on the basis of herd growth in a given environment. Climate, vegetation and topography for certain study sites were compared with the same features in the native range. The results …
