A Measurement Of Productivity For Kentucky Home Health Care Registered Nurses Full-Time Equivalence By Organizational Type, Kathy Holderman

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

Productivity can be described as a relationship between the outputs produced by an organization and the inputs provided to create the outputs. This means that the outputs consist of the number of home visits performed and the inputs consist of the time, supplies, mileage, and administrative support necessary for producing home visits. In order to have a complete understanding of productivity, one must understand the importance of examining significant service delivery factors that are unique to the home health industry. …

The possible impact that overall mental health status has on the utilization rates of health care services rust be examined in the …

The Acute Effect Of Aerobic Exercise On Anxiety Levels, Toni Devolder Aug 1993

The Acute Effect Of Aerobic Exercise On Anxiety Levels, Toni Devolder

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

The present study sought to determine whether or not state anxiety levels were significantly reduced when individuals participated in aerobic dance workouts of 15 minutes and 30 minutes. Undergraduate university students and faculty enrolled in an aerobic dance class were volunteers in this study. As hypothesized, subjects in the aerobic dance classes did reduce anxiety acutely following both their 15 minute and 30 minute workout as assessed by the STAI (Y-Form State Anxiety). Thus, results indicate that state anxiety may be reduced through aerobic dance with similar situations and individuals. In addition, the study also looked at the posttest state …

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

The purpose of this research project is to answer the question, "How and with what effects does Logan Aluminum, Inc. translate and implement the principles of socio-technical and team management theory into its organizational culture and operational activities?" To answer this question the researcher first examined the literature related to those theories and then conducted on-site interviews and ethnographic research to witness their implementation. Cryptococcus neoformans is an encapsulated yeast responsible for severe meningoencephalitis. The importance of epidemiological studies on cryptococcosis has increased since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic. C. neoformans exists in two varieties containing four serotypes, C. neoformans var. neoformans (serotypes A and D) and C. neoformans var. gattii (serotypes B and C). Locally C. neoformans var. neoformans has been associated with pigeon feces during those months having an average temperature of 64.2°F j(17.8°C) and above. Clinical and environmental isolates of C. neoformans obtained from regional hospitals and environmental samplings, respectively, have been grouped into their variety status utilizing canavanine-glycine-bromthymol blue …

Examination Of Fat Oxidation Products By Ft-Nmr & Ft-Ir, De Chen May 1993

Examination Of Fat Oxidation Products By Ft-Nmr & Ft-Ir, De Chen

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

Edible oils are easily oxidized when used for frying. Oxidation originates with double bonds present in unsaturated fatty acids. A new NMR method is presented which offers potential for determining the products of oil oxidation. High resolution fourier transform nuclear magnetic resonance (FT-NMR) and fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy have found increasing use in biochemistry. One pure fat, trioleoylglycerol, was heated at 160°C in the presence of air Samples were taken for FT-NMR and FT-IR analyses at 4, 10. 20. 25, 35, 50, 70 and 100 hours. Proton, Carbon-13 and several types of two-dimensional FT-NMR spectra were obtained using a …
