Retail sales professionals have the highest turnover rates of approximately 40% in the United States. Retail business leaders see a continuous decline in sales due to understaffed workers in large apparel retailers leading to poor business performance. Grounded in Herzberg’s two-factor model theory, the purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore strategies that some retail management teams use to retain sales professionals of large retailers in the Virginia peninsula and Portland, Oregon Metropolitan areas. The participants were five retail managers of four large apparel retailers who were successful in retaining sales professionals in their current roles within …

Veterans Justice Outreach Program, Risk Of Recidivism, And Justice-Involved Veterans, Melody C. Weathers
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
To date, no study has examined whether the Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) program influences recidivism once a justice-involved veteran (JIV) completes the program. Nor has a study examined the diagnoses and comorbidities between a JIV’s propensity for recidivism following separation from the VJO. One of the VJO program’s goals has been to end JIVs' contact with the criminal justice system. This study utilized a generic qualitative design that aimed to explore JIVs who received treatment from the VJO and whether there was an effect on their risk of recidivism. Additional elements for exploration included posttraumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain disorder, …

Natural hazards triggering technological disasters (natech) events exist around the world and affect people, infrastructure, the economy, and environment but are not often considered for local hazard mitigation and emergency preparedness plans. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to identify (a) the natech event vulnerability of the target city, which is in the western United States, and potential sources for these events and (b) the extent to which the city’s hazard mitigation and emergency operations plans addressed natech events. The vulnerability assessment was performed through the lens of network risk theory and involved secondary data analysis of publicly …

A Staff Education Program On The Education Of Nurses On Transgender Health Care, Diana Collins
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
In nursing education, both preregistration and continuing professional development, there is an absence of information about the specific needs of transgender people. The practicum site observed that education on the needs of the transgender community was lacking, discussing a discrepancy in the information offered and the scant attention paid to the unique requirements of transgender individuals. The goal of this project was to create a program that would raise staff members’ understanding of the exceptional health care requirements of the transgender population by providing them with an evidence-based assessment screening tool and training on transgender health care for nurses. Journal of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences
Over the last three decades, the making and implementation of policy on intellectual property rights (IPR), innovation, and technology within Caricom (Caribbean community) has been fraught with issues. These include the lack of clear direction on the development of science, technology, and innovation, as well as the attendant IPR policies and laws that would support their actualization at the level of the Caricom heads of government and the highest levels of administration. International groups and organizations have long attempted to raise the levels of awareness and use of IPRs in the region through investments in workshops, seminars, training sessions, and …

Dietary behaviors, including fruit and vegetable consumption (F/V) and sugar-sweetened beverage consumption (SSB), as well as screen time and physical activity, were quantified. Multivariable regression models (linear and logistic) were built. We analyzed …
