The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore law enforcement officers’ perceptions in combating carjacking and auto theft during the COVID-19 pandemic in the southeast region of Louisiana. The framework selected to guide the study was the crime pattern theory by Brangtingham and Brangtinham. Using the purposive sampling method and snowballing sampling method, 10 active law enforcement officers were recruited from agencies across the Southeast region of Louisiana until data saturation occurred. Maternal mortality in the United States is significantly higher than in most developed nations and has been increasing since 2000. Persistent between-group disparities among White, Black, and Hispanic women occur in terms of maternal mortality; however, the reason for this is largely unknown. Using the intersectionality theory, this quantitative study examined if racial groups predicted maternal mortality and to what extent relationships were moderated by geographic area and health risk factors. Implementing electronic health records (EHR) is critical for modernizing healthcare systems; however, existing research has indicated these initiatives are fraught with challenges. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is responsible for providing care to millions of veterans and has encountered significant obstacles in its EHR modernization efforts, leading to budget overruns, extended timelines, and operational disruptions. This education project was to introduce nurse managers to the evidence-based practice of daily purposeful leader rounding on all staff in this acute care facility. The equity gap for Black millennials continues to lag compared to other racial groups. The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand the experiences of Black millennials in navigating the landscape of quality internships, high-paying careers, and generational wealth through the lens of individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community system levels.
