Streamflow Summaries From Twelve Tributaries Of Farmington Creek, Davis County Experimental Watershed, Northern Utah, U.S. Forest Service, United States Department Of Agriculture, Jan M. Pankey, Norbert V. Debyle

All U.S. Government Documents (Utah Regional Depository)

The Farmington Creek watershed consists of 6,400 acres of forested and brush-covered lands on the west face of the Wasatch Mountains between Salt Lake City and Ogden. Streamflow data have been gathered from this stream as well as from most of its perennial tributaries for many years. Mean daily, monthly, and annual flows are tabulated for all years of record from the 12 gaged tributaries of farmington creek.

An Spectrometer For Investigating The Spectral Momentum Density Of Thin Films, A. L. Ritter, John R. Dennison, J. Dunn Apr 1984

An Spectrometer For Investigating The Spectral Momentum Density Of Thin Films, A. L. Ritter, John R. Dennison, J. Dunn

All Physics Faculty Publications

An (e, 2e) spectrometer has been constructed for detecting scattered and recoiling electrons from a thin solid film. The cross section for observing the two electrons in coincidence is proportional to the spectral momentum density of the target. In this spectrometer the energy of the incident electron beam is 25 keV and the beam current is approximately 40 μA. The energy resolution (FWHM) is ≤4 eV. The momentum resolution (FWHM) can be varied from 0.2 to 1.0 Å−1. Preliminary coincidence data from an amorphous carbon film are presented.

Setting Utility Prices: Appropriate Power Costs For Utah Irrigation Pumpers, Jay C. Andersen Feb 1984

Setting Utility Prices: Appropriate Power Costs For Utah Irrigation Pumpers, Jay C. Andersen

Economic Research Institute Study Papers

Much has been said and written on efficient and equitable pricing of public utility products, yet utility users are often charged prices which bear little resemblance to actual costs of providing services or to other criteria established. Among causes is the hectic schedule of the public utilities governing body which is continually bombarded by rate requests and other matters. The adversial nature of utility vs. users and the contesting users arguments in the spread of rates do not lend themselves to discovery of efficient and equitable prices. Overcapacity in electrical generating facilities which increases costs has mostly occurred because of …

A Backward Bending Supply Response From Some Dairy Producers?, Jay D. Atwood, Jay C. Andersen Feb 1984

A Backward Bending Supply Response From Some Dairy Producers?, Jay D. Atwood, Jay C. Andersen

Economic Research Institute Study Papers

A number of dairy producers in Utah and probably elsewhere denounced the milk tax last summer as being counterproductive. The claim (usually made by small producers) was that financial obligations of providing for debt service and family living dictated that they must increase production if price fell. Discussions with a number of producers about the Dairy Diversion Program indicates that many who chose not to sign up did so after some analysis. They made the nonparticipation choice because they determined (rightly or wrongly) that their volume of business during the life of the program and thereafter would not provide them …
