Title Iii/Edwaa Eligibility Policy And Procedures : Guidelines For Determining Jtpa Participant Eligibility, Texas Work Force Development Division

Documents from the State of Texas-Archive

In August 1988, the Economic Dislocation and Worker Adjustment Assistance Act (EDWAA) was enacted as Subtitle D of Title VI of the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988. EDWAA amends portions of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) and revises the Title III Dislocated Workers Program....This Guide is designed also to help the JTPA contractor develop an eligibility and verification system that complies with JTPA law, Federal Regulations and Texas Department of Commerce policy. The first section outlines those criteria (as stated in the JTPA and the Regulations) and definitions needed in determining Title III eligibility. The second section …

A Border Crossing Station, Brownsville, Texas, Steven Quevedo May 1989

A Border Crossing Station, Brownsville, Texas, Steven Quevedo

School of Architecture Theses - Archive

The increasing influx of Latin Americans into the Southwest United States as a result of social, political and economic upheaval in their homelands is a growing concern for the state of Texas. A new immigration station is proposed for the Texas - Mexico border which would be essential to the journey of the international migrant. Serving simultaneously both as an administrative and educational facility, this place of entry into the United States would serve to enhance the immigrant's arrival and adaptation to their new world. The complex would represent the freedoms provided by the Constitution, serving symbolically as a haven …

Long-Term Electric Peak Demand And Capacity Resource Forecast For Texas, 1988, Texas Public Utility Commission

Documents from the State of Texas-Archive

"Although electric utilities in Texas have entered a period of significant excess generating capacity, a number of planning issues deserve prompt attention. These issues include the future role of cogeneration in Texas, alleviating potential transmission bottlenecks in some areas of the State, the short-term and long-term implications associated with abandoning conservation programs in favor of promotional strategies, the appropriate degree of operating and planning coordination among the State's utilities, better utilization of the transmission system, and the potential for rate design to serve as a resource planning tool. This report is designed to provide information and recommendations to policymakers and …

Supercomputer Simulation Of Cracks And Fractures By Quasimolecular Dynamics, Donald Greenspan Jan 1989

Supercomputer Simulation Of Cracks And Fractures By Quasimolecular Dynamics, Donald Greenspan

Mathematics Technical Papers - Archive

The gross physical behavior of solids and liquids is the result of atomic or molecular reactions to external forces. Using molecular dynamics, we can study such reactions in the small, on the molecular level. In quasimolecular dynamics, molecules are aggregated into larger units, called quasimolecules, in order to simulate behavior in the large. Mass and energy conservation considerations are fundamental in this approach. In particular, we will simulate the generation of cracks in a slotted plate which, for illustrative purposes, is chosen to be of pure copper. CRAY X—MP/24 supercomputer examples are described and discussed.

Quantitative, Quasimolecular Modelling Of The Fall Of A Drop Into A Basin Of Water, Donald Greenspan, Mohsen Mahmoudi Jan 1989

Quantitative, Quasimolecular Modelling Of The Fall Of A Drop Into A Basin Of Water, Donald Greenspan, Mohsen Mahmoudi

Mathematics Technical Papers - Archive

The fall of a drop into a basin of water is simulated by a molecular aggregate approach. The dynamical equations are large systems of nonlinear, ordinary differential equations which are derived using conservation of mass and total energy. These equations have to be solved numerically. Supercomputer examples of backdrop and wave simulations are described and discussed.

1990 Coop Program, Texas Department Of Commerce, Texas Tourism Division

Documents from the State of Texas-Archive

The program will assist your marketing activities in several ways: Help you break through the advertising clutter by placing your product in proximity to the Texas message. Provide you with a more efficient media buy through radio tags and special consumer print discounts. Provide marketing opportunities for virtually every budget range, from national cable TV to spot radio tags. Allow you to "close the sale" by providing consumers with specifics regarding prices and destination information. The following sections outline the details of the 1990 advertising co-op program. The information explains how the program works in each market, along with worksheets …

Teacher Certification Handbook, Texas State Board Of Education, Texas Education Agency

Documents from the State of Texas-Archive

The Teacher Certification Handbook is a compilation of materials relative to Texas teacher certification requirements and procedures. Information included in the handbook has been derived from the Texas Education Code (Bulletin 750), policies of the State Board of Education, and administrative procedures implemented by the Commissioner of Education, as well as operational guidelines of the Texas Education Agency. The new Teacher Certification Handbook is divided and paginated by sections for easy reference. The document also includes many quick-reference charts for areas such as vocational education, appropriate examination requirements for specific certification areas, and a procedural guide for activating teaching permits …

Quasimolecular Simulation Of Pendent Water Drops, Donald Greenspan Jan 1989

Quasimolecular Simulation Of Pendent Water Drops, Donald Greenspan

Mathematics Technical Papers - Archive

Pendent water drops are simulated by molecular aggregates, called quasimolecules. The quasimolecules interact in accordance with classical molecular type formulas. Supercomputer examples are described and discussed for both stationary and for falling drops.

Supercomputer Simulation Of Colliding Microdrops Of Water, Donald Greenspan Jan 1989

Supercomputer Simulation Of Colliding Microdrops Of Water, Donald Greenspan

Mathematics Technical Papers - Archive

Microdrop collisions are important in fast kinetic, microwave, nucleation, and rainstorm studies. In this Paper a molecular model of colliding microdrops of water is simulated on a CRAY X-MP/24. A least squares fit of the force field allows relatively large time steps in the numerical procedure. Rotating "raindrop" modes, "dumbell" modes, and oscillatory oblateness modes are demonstrated, as are nonadhesive soft and hard collisions.

The Compensatory Bargaining Set Of A Cooperative N-Person Game With Side Payments, Irinel C. Dragan Dec 1988

The Compensatory Bargaining Set Of A Cooperative N-Person Game With Side Payments, Irinel C. Dragan

Mathematics Technical Papers - Archive

The bargaining sets have been introduced as solution concepts for cooperative n-person games with side payments by R. J. Aumann and M. Maschler (1964). A further study on the relationships between various concepts of solution for such games is due to R. J. Aumann and J. Dreze (1975). The Aumann/Maschler definition of a bargaining set relies upon a stability principle imposed to the payoffs in this set: an admissible payoff belongs to a bargaining set if for every objection against this payoff there is a counter objection. Two modification of the stability principle have been discussed in earlier papers of …
