Organizational Capital And Credit Ratings, Humnath Panta, Arun Narayanasamy, Ayush Panta

This study uses pooled OLS to examine the effect of organizational capital on credit ratings using a large sample of US firm data from 1989 to 2017. The main finding reveals that firms with higher organizational capital receive higher credit ratings. This finding is robust to numerous robustness tests, alternative estimation techniques, and attempts to mitigate omitted variable and endogeneity concerns. Further, the positive effect of organizational capital on credit ratings is more prominent when firms are more financially constrained. Overall, our findings reveal the importance of organizational capital in the credit ratings of a firm.

On The Trajectory Of Discrimination: A Meta-Analysis And Forecasting Survey Capturing 44 Years Of Field Experiments On Gender And Hiring Decisions, Helen C. Harton, Michael Schaerer, Christilene Du Plessis, My Hoang Bao Nguyen, Robbie C.M.Van Aert, Leo Tiokhin, Daniel Lakens, Elena Giulia Clemente, Thomas Pfeiffer, Anna Dreber, Magnus Johannesson, Cory J. Clark, Eric Luis Uhlmann

A preregistered meta-analysis, including 244 effect sizes from 85 field audits and 361,645 individual job applications, tested for gender bias in hiring practices in female-stereotypical and gender-balanced as well as male-stereotypical jobs from 1976 to 2020. A “red team” of independent experts was recruited to increase the rigor and robustness of our meta-analytic approach. A forecasting survey further examined whether laypeople (n = 499 nationally representative adults) and scientists (n = 312) could predict the results. Forecasters correctly anticipated reductions in discrimination against female candidates over time. However, both scientists and laypeople overestimated the continuation of bias against female candidates. …

Relations Among Bitcoin Futures, Bitcoin Spot, Investor Attention, And Sentiment, Arun Narayanasamy, Humnath Panta, Rohit Agarwal

This research investigates the function of price discovery between the Bitcoin futures and the spot markets while also analyzing the impact of investor sentiment and attention on these markets. This study utilizes various statistical models to examine the short-term and long-term relations between these variables, including the bivariate Granger causality model, the ARDL and NARDL models, and the Johansen cointegration procedure with a vector error correction mechanism. The results suggest that there is no statistical evidence of price discovery between the Bitcoin spot price and futures, and the term structure of the Bitcoin futures neither enriches nor impairs this lead …

A New Rough Ordinal Priority-Based Decision Support System For Purchasing Electric Vehicles, Sadik Kucuksari, Dragan Pamucar, Muhammet Deveci, Nuh Erdogan, Dursun Delen

This study proposes a novel multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model based on a rough extension of the Ordinal Priority Approach (OPA) to determine the order of importance of users' perspectives on Electric Vehicle (EV) purchases. Unlike conventional methods that rely on predefined ranks for criteria weighting coefficients, the proposed rough OPA method employs an aggregated rough linguistic matrix, enabling a more precise and unbiased calculation of interval values. Moreover, the model addresses inherent uncertainties by incorporating nonlinear aggregation functions, accommodating decision makers' risk attitudes for flexible decision-making.
