Social media usage has become a cornerstone of the everyday lives of Americans. From the years 2012 through 2021, the percentage of U.S. adults who say they use the social media platforms of YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, X/Twitter and Snapchat have grown exponentially, according to data from the Pew Research Center (Auxier & Anderson, 2021). Primarily among young people (those age 18-29) social media growth share has been the most prevalent, with this age range being mostly made up of Millennials and Generation Z (or Gen Z). What The Book Of First Enoch And The Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls Reveal About The History Of The Qumran Community, Kenneth Atkinson

The Aramaic book commonly known as First Enoch is among the most important of all the compositions found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The fragments of this pseudepigraphal work and related documents provide new information about the use and growth of the Enochic traditions, as well as how their contents influenced the community that collected and placed the Dead Sea Scrolls in the caves in the vicinity of Khirbet Qumran. Research on the Enochic literature in this corpus of documents is important for Jewish studies and for understanding the history of Christianity since the New Testament cites from and alludes …

Purpose: One purpose of this preliminary case report was to document the challenges that can arise when giving adult neurogenic tests via telepractice. Another purpose was to develop recommendations on adaptations that can be made when speech-language pathologists give the tests employed in this report. Though one test was adapted by its authors to be given remotely, the other two tests have little or no published adaptations regarding remote administration. We conducted a critical systematic literature review on global inclusive education and law. The critical review questions were: (1) how have scholars theorized, conceptualized, and studied global inclusive education? (2) How do scholars define global inclusive education? (3) And what do scholars cite as prominent international inclusive education law? We ask such questions given the ongoing global crises that situate historically marginalized groups in even more precarious positions—including students with dis/Abilities. Relations Among Bitcoin Futures, Bitcoin Spot, Investor Attention, And Sentiment, Arun Narayanasamy, Humnath Panta, Rohit Agarwal

This research investigates the function of price discovery between the Bitcoin futures and the spot markets while also analyzing the impact of investor sentiment and attention on these markets. This study utilizes various statistical models to examine the short-term and long-term relations between these variables, including the bivariate Granger causality model, the ARDL and NARDL models, and the Johansen cointegration procedure with a vector error correction mechanism. The results suggest that there is no statistical evidence of price discovery between the Bitcoin spot price and futures, and the term structure of the Bitcoin futures neither enriches nor impairs this lead …

Uv-Vis Spectral Analysis Of Mende Cultural Mask, Kameron Kruger, Joshua Sebree

Fall 2023 - Chemical Analysis Class Projects

• The UNI Museum possesses a mask that originated from the Mende people of Sierra Leone, and has since been used as an educational tool. While the rafia fibers at the base have been replaced, the wooden mask is original.
• Under black light, the mask shows a complex fluorescence pattern that includes distinct regions of green, orange, and dark purple.
• This work used UV Vis spectroscopy to analyze the mask and potentially identify functional groups associated with compounds on the surface, such as oils and other wood preservatives. As many historical wood preservatives are known to damage their artifacts over time, …

• This research is focused on studying an ancient brick of unknown origin which is housed in the University of Northern Iowa Museum
• It is theorized to be from Egypt during the time of the Israelite’s enslavement
• There are many disputes about the above claim; others believe it could be from Mesopotamia long after the time of Israelites lived in Egypt
• A museum artifact, determining the history and origin of this brick to a better understanding of its meaning and significance for historians and museum goers alike.

To be empowered, freed from rejection, silence and trauma, one may have no choice but to speak up. But how does the silenced speak in the presence of the oppressor? At this point, theatre (of testimony) became the most useful tool to break the silence among irregular returnees in Akuma, Ghana. This qualitative study article reports on the healing and empowering effects of Testimonial Theatre on spect-actors during its use for dissemination of research findings to the researched community.
