Clinical Decision-Making In A Patient With Cervical Radiculopathy And Cubital Tunnel Syndrome: Double Crush Syndrome, Taylor Nord
Physical Therapy Scholarly Projects
Background and Purpose: Double crush syndrome (DCS) is pathology involving the association between proximal and distal nerve lesions. It is often difficult to diagnose due to the variety of possible sources of tissue involvement and, therefore, is difficult to treat effectively. The purpose of this case report is to describe the physical therapy diagnosis and treatment of an older adult with DCS consisting of cervical radiculopathy (CR) and cubital tunnel syndrome (CuTS).
Case Description: 74-year-old female with a diagnosis of CR was referred to physical therapy. The physical examination confirmed this diagnosis. Due to the patient not responding well …

Modeling E-Textbook Tools Or Encouraging Reading From Paper: What Are The Effects On Medium Choice And Textbook Use?, Virginia Clinton-Lisell, Alison E. Kelly, Travis D. Clark
Education, Health & Behavior Studies Faculty Publications
E-textbooks have become more popular with college students, but there are concerns that reading is not as effective from screens as paper. In addition, students may not take advantage of tools afforded by e-textbooks. The purpose of this study was to determine if encouraging students to read from paper or modeling e-textbook tools would be better for students in terms of reading and using their textbooks. Two instructors randomly assigned students (N = 144) to view a video and answer an essay question about either the benefits of reading from paper, how to use etextbook tools, or general information about …

The Assessment Of Forced Penetration: A Necessary And Further Step Toward Understanding Men’S Sexual Victimization And Women’S Perpetration, Raeann E. Anderson, Erica L. Goodman, Sidney S. Thimm
Psychology Faculty Publications
A unique form of sexual victimization that often goes undiscussed and, therefore, underassessed is that of being forced to penetrate another person (i.e., forced penetration). Due to forced penetration being a relatively novel addition to the definition of rape, there is a lack of assessment tools that identify forced penetration cases. Thus, the goal of this study was to assess the utility and validity of new items designed to assess forced penetration. More than 1,000 participants were recruited across three different studies to assess forced penetration victimization and perpetration. The rate of forced penetration victimization ranged from 4.51% to 10.62%. …

Status Of Mineral Ownership Underlying The Missouri River Within The Boundaries Of The Fort Berthold Indian Reservation (North Dakota), Department Of The Interior, Daniel H. Jorjani
US Government Documents Related to Indigenous Nations
This memorandum, dated May 26, 2020, from the United States Department of the Interior (Office of the Solicitor) to the Assistant Secretary of US Indian Affairs and the Assistant Secretary of Land and Minerals Management rescinds the Solicitor’s January 18, 2017 opinion regarding mineral rights on the Fort Berthold Reservation and asserts that the state of North Dakota, not the Three Affiliated Tribes, is the legal owner of the submerged lands beneath the Missouri River. The Solicitor cites the “Historical Examination of the Missouri River within the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation, Precontact-1902” and his interpretation of laws and case precedent …
