This handbook helps take some of the mystery out of practicing in tribal courts. Without the necessary information to learn new rules and protocols many attorneys are understandably reluctant to practice in a new jurisdiction. As a result, tribal courts are underused or misused. This handbook is intended to help attorneys and advocates become more aware of the various individual tribal court systems and to learn their rules and protocol.

Molybdenum (Mo) is an essential element that plays an important role in global nitrogen, carbon, and sulfur cycles with a critical role in human metabolism and ecological balance. It becomes catalytically active when complexed with the pyranopterin dithiolene ligand (PDT), forming the nearly ubiquitous molybdenum cofactor (Moco). The complex biosynthetic pathway of Moco, its presence in all three domains of life, and its role as a constituent cofactor in the last universal common ancestor (LUCA) all point toward the importance of the PDT in the development of life on Earth. This study investigated the storytelling elements of 81 online petitions from 10 human rights international non-governmental organizations (HR-INGOs). The purpose was to analyze the content, structure, and context of the stories in these petitions and reconcile them into a typology—or “proto-typology,” since it was based on a specific sample of HR-INGOs and was intended for future studies to build upon. The study adapted the combined content-analysis (CCA) methodology devised by Hamad et al. (2016). This dissertation is concerned with the meaning or content of empirical thought and its relationship to the natural world. More specifically, I seek to develop a response to a problem influentially posed by John McDowell in Mind and World, and elaborated in various forms throughout his work, according to which our understanding of such content is positioned between two competing demands about how it is determined: by the way the world is, and by the trappings of a human form of life, in particular, language.
