Creative practitioners spend much of their time outside of libraries, working in studios, labs, galleries, and other spaces. For this chapter, we declare that anyone can be a creative practitioner and that inspiration can come from new ways of experiencing the world. However, developing spaces to nurture creativity can be challenging within traditional academic library spaces. For example, if creativity is nurtured through experiential and embodied learning, how do we craft spaces within our libraries to inspire new modes of seeing, being, and knowing in the world? While librarians have long studied the information needs of artists, designers, and architects, …

OBJECTIVE: To determine the ability of the Bayley-III cognitive and language composite scores at 18-22 months corrected age to predict WISC-IV Full Scale IQ (FSIQ) at 6-7 years in infants born extremely preterm.
STUDY DESIGN: Children in this study were part of the Neuroimaging and Neurodevelopmental Outcome cohort, a secondary study to the SUPPORT trial and born 24
RESULTS: Bayley-III cognitive (r = 0.33) and language scores (r = 0.44) were mildly correlated with WISC-IV FSIQ score. Of the children with Bayley-III cognitive scores of100, approximately 1 in 5 had an FSIQ of
CONCLUSIONS: Findings indicate the Bayley-III cognitive and …

Despite existing revised legislation on the accessibility of public buildings in the United States, people with disabilities continue to experience barriers that limit their participation and engagement in the context of the community. This researcher developed, cross-sectional survey study, explored trends in accessing public buildings, accessibility problems encountered, and approaches for accessing information and resources for accessibility of specific buildings among people with disabilities (n = 109). Respondents largely reported on accessibility barriers encountered in communal spaces and how having prior knowledge of accessibility may have influenced their plans to access the community. Despite having knowledge that accessibility guidelines …

Smoke from wildland fires has been shown to produce neuroinflammation in preclinical models, characterized by neural infiltrations of neutrophils and monocytes, as well as altered neurovascular endothelial phenotypes. To address the longevity of such outcomes, the present study examined the temporal dynamics of neuroinflammation and metabolomics after inhalation exposures from biomass-derived smoke. 2-month-old female C57BL/6 J mice were exposed to wood smoke every other day for 2 weeks at an average exposure concentration of 0.5 mg/m
