This study is based on a qualitative approach and analyses the influence of media pressure on judicial decisions regarding pretrial detention in Peruvian criminal proceedings. Four media cases were selected as a sample and documentary analysis techniques were used. The results reveal that media pressure plays an important role in judicial decisions, acting through various mechanisms such as exposure to information, public pressure, and so-cial legitimation. In some cases, media pressure has been a determining factor, while in others it has had a more subtle influence. Judges must be aware of this influence and take measures to prevent it from …

Collectively, these papers address how family environments shape adolescent experiences and outcomes, including alcohol use disorder (AUD). Using data from the Add Health study, this dissertation offers insights for researchers and clinicians supporting youth in vulnerable contexts. OBJECTIVES: The concept of rete hyperplasia with hyaline globules simulating testicular yolk sac tumor was first reported in a mostly retrospective review over 30 years ago. Nonetheless, we continue to encounter examples where this scenario resulted in misdiagnosis. Herein, we sought to investigate the incidence of rete hyperplasia/hyaline globules in germ cell tumors and their associated subtypes and hypothesize an etiology.

METHODS: A consecutive series of 348 germ cell tumor orchiectomies was evaluated for the presence of rete hyperplasia and hyaline globules, with clinicopathologic features recorded.
