The extent of rural isolation and lack of mobility affects a majority of Indian families and individuals living in outlying areas such as the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. The purpose of the study is to review the patient transportation system at each Service Unit within the Indian Health Service (IHS) Billings Area and develop and present various alternatives for providing the most efficient and effective transportation system to those Indian people seeking and obtaining health care at IHS facilities or referrals to contract health service facilities.This study conducted mileage surveys to get exact information for better transportation. Bokkos Fulani Pastoralism: Human And Herd Regulation In A Complex Ecological Setting, Joseph V. Hickey

This is a study of a Pastoral Fulani group residing in the vicinity of Bokkos, a market village forty-seven miles south of Jos in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Bokkos Fulani adaptation is relatively unique among Fulani pastoralists, because they do not live at the margins of a farming community, but inhabit and pasture cattle on the land of Ron agriculturalists.
Fulani settled the uninhabited Bokkos Plains in the early 19001s after British pacification. At the same time Ron farmers began to vacate defensive clusters along the Bokkos river, and they too settled the Plains. The result of this …

Sipapu: A Cultural Perspective, Paula Gunn Allen

This three-essay study examined European-American political and social treatment of Native Americans, and European-American interpretations of Native American literature. It proceeds from the hypothesis that the Euro-American conception of Native America differs greatly from the Native American's conception of himself. Recent examinations of the relations between European and Native Americans have revealed that the American treatment of aboriginal people was a consequence of basic European attitudes, rather than a reaction to Native American conduct. These same attitudes have colored literary studies just as they have colored all aspects of American-Native American relations.

Between the ouster of Colonel Juan Domingo Perón from the Presidency of Argentina in September 1955 and his return to power in the Fall of 1973, Argentine women began to write political novels, a new phenomenon in the Argentine literary scene, since few, if any, novels had been created by female novelists prior to 1955. The basic goals of this study are to determine what type(s) of politics these writers possess and to evaluate how they interpret their political ambience through their literary craft.
