The dynamic landscape of cloud computing design presents significant challenges regarding power consumption and quality of service (QoS). Virtual machine (VM) consolidation is essential for reducing power usage and enhancing QoS by relocating VMs between hosts. OpenStack Neat, a leading framework for VM consolidation, employs the Modified Best-Fit Decreasing (MBFD) VM placement technique, which faces issues related to energy consumption and QoS. To address these issues, we propose an Energy Efficient VM Consolidation (EEVMC) approach. Our method introduces a novel host selection criterion based on the incurred loss during VM placement to identify the most efficient host. For validation, we …

Upside-Down Logics: Falsification Of The Truth And Truthification Of The False, Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
This paper is about funny science, recreational mathematics, upside-down thinking, or contradictory reasoning (to think backward). Since a statement in some conditions may be true, in other conditions false, and a third type of conditions partially true and partially false. The paper presents for the first time two types of Upside-Down Logic, the first one is falsification of the Truth (when a true statement is transformed into a false one), and the second one is the opposite: Truthification of the False (when a false statement is transformed into a true one) - within the frame of Recreational Neutrosophy. All transformations …

In this paper, we defined the basic idea of the single-valued neutrosophic upper, single-valued neutrosophic lower and single-valued neutrosophic boundary sets of a rough single-valued neutrosophic set in a single-valued neutrosophic approximation space. We joined the single-valued neutrosophic ideal notion with the single-valued neutrosophic approximation spaces and then introduced the single-valued neutrosophic ideal approximation closure and interior operators associated with a rough single-valued neutrosophic set, single-valued neutrosophic ideal approximation connectedness and the single-valued neutrosophic ideal approximation continuity between single-valued neutrosophic ideal approximation spaces are introduced. The concepts of single-valued neutrosophic groups and their approximations have also been applied in the …

It is known that in the long-term planning of future energy supplies, in most countries, it is most likely that the energy mix will be predominated by renewable energy generation. While this feature of a predominating renewable energy mix appears too far fetched, such long term planning has been suggested, for instance, by Mark Jacobson from Stanford and also by John Blackburn. Here we consider two things, the first would be how to consider the long-term energy planning based on neutrosophic logic split into subcomponents.

Physics thrives on precision, but paradoxes in set theory reveal limitations in our understanding of well-defined boundaries. Neutrosophic logic, challenging the excluded middle principle, introduces the concept of "betweenness" and partial belonging. This article explores, among other things, what is less known, i.e., Paradoxism emerged as a radical artistic and literary movement in Romania during the late 1980s and continues even today. It arose within the stifling and highly controlled environment of Nicolae Ceaușescu's socialist regime, offering a rebellious outlet and a means to subvert the prevailing ideology. Understanding the Paradoxist Movement necessitates a contextual understanding of the Nicolae Ceaușescu …

Following our preceding article, where we discussed alternative interpretations of the advanced perihelion of Mercury, the present article revisits the 1919 solar eclipse expedition led by Arthur Eddington, which famously provided the first observational confirmation of Einstein's theory of general relativity. We focus on the deflection of starlight data obtained during the eclipse, a cornerstone of this validation. Here, we explore three alternative explanations for the observed light bending that challenge the sole attribution to general relativity. Firstly, the paper begins by arguing based on criticisms raised by Tullio Levi-Civita, a contemporary mathematician, regarding Einstein's use of pseudo-tensors in his …

Graph theory, a branch of mathematics, examines relationships between entities using vertices and edges. Within this field, Uncertain Graph Theory has emerged to model uncertainties in real-world networks. A notable concept in this area is the competition graph, which captures interactions by connecting vertices that “compete” for the same neighbor, represented by directed edges indicating common neighbors in a digraph. This brief paper introduces the concept of the Generalized Turiyam Neutrosophic Competition Graph and explores its relationships with other graph classes.

Epistemology, the study of knowledge, has long grappled with the challenge of determining truth. While the combination of deductive and inductive reasoning has been a cornerstone of scientific inquiry, several limitations emerge in its application to contemporary epistemology. One significant issue lies within the core of falsificationism, a prominent philosophy championed by Karl Popper. Falsificationism posits that a scientific theory can only be proven false, not true. While this approach aims to prevent dogmatic adherence to untested ideas, it can lead to an endless cycle of trial and error. As Popper himself acknowledged, no single experiment can definitively prove a …
