Recurrent Baker’S Cyst In A Pediatric Athlete: A Case Report, Gaurav Singh, Rebecca Peebles, Justin Bartley
Recurrent Baker’S Cyst In A Pediatric Athlete: A Case Report, Gaurav Singh, Rebecca Peebles, Justin Bartley
Western Journal of Orthopaedics
Also known as popliteal cysts, Baker’s cysts are fluid-filled lesions found in the popliteal fossa, typically originating from the gastrocnemius-semimembranosus bursa. While these cysts are relatively common in adults, with a prevalence ranging from 5.0% to 41.0%, they are extremely rare in children, showing an incidence of just 2.4%. In most cases, Baker’s cysts result from intra-articular knee pathologies that lead to an increased production and sequestration of synovial fluid. The authors present the case of an athletic 16-year-old adolescent boy with a recurrent left-knee Baker’s cyst with magnetic resonance imaging showing no intra-articular pathology. Despite conservative treatment, including non-steroidal …

Backdoor Nepa Proceduralization: Less Environmental Substance Begets More Environmental Procedure, Cade Mallett
Backdoor Nepa Proceduralization: Less Environmental Substance Begets More Environmental Procedure, Cade Mallett
Natural Resources Journal
The National Environmental Policy Act (“NEPA”) tasks the government with fully analyzing the environmental consequences of the actions it plans to take before those actions can be performed. This procedural function of NEPA is much maligned by the development community for imposing paralyzingly high costs on government action. At the same time, the statute is disparaged by environmentalists as a toothless and ineffective tool which cannot compel the government to conform its actions to the environment’s best interests. So, which side is right? Arguably, both are. By interpreting NEPA to be a purely procedural statute, the Supreme Court’s holdings on …

Neutrosophic Circular-Arc Graphs And Proper Circular-Arc Graphs, Takaaki Fujita, Florentin Smarandache
Neutrosophic Circular-Arc Graphs And Proper Circular-Arc Graphs, Takaaki Fujita, Florentin Smarandache
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Graph theory is a fundamental branch of mathematics that studies networks made up of nodes (vertices) and connections (edges). A key concept in graph theory is the intersection graph, where vertices represent sets, and edges are drawn between vertices if their corresponding sets intersect. A circular-arc graph specifically models the intersections of arcs on a circle, with vertices corresponding to the arcs and edges existing between intersecting arcs. This paper delves into the study of circular-arc graphs within the frameworks of fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy, neutrosophic, and Turiyam Neutrosophic graphs, all of which incorporate uncertainty into graph structures. Additionally, we examine …

Lagrange-Integrated Gra Model For Urban Landscape Sculpture Site Selection With Neutrosophic Decision-Making, Qiwei Liu, Jiayin Li, Chang Liu
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Urban landscape sculpture plays a crucial role in preserving cultural heritage, enhancing city vitality, and reflecting the lives of urban citizens. With the continued development of landscape sculpture in modern urban environments, the process of site selection has become increasingly important. A well-chosen location can establish a positive interaction between sculptures and urban activities. Traditionally, site selection methods have been largely theoretical, lacking quantitative foundations, which made practical application challenging for designers. To address this, site selection for urban landscape sculptures can be approached as a multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) problem. Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) is an effective method for handling …

Enhancing Neutrosophic Data Analysis: A Review Of Neutrosophic Measures And Applications With Neutrostat, Zahid Khan, Katrina Lane Krebs
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Neutrosophic statistical measures analyze data that is not fully determined, often due to imprecise observations. This type of data presents a major concern in neutrosophic statistics. The existing literature cat egorizes neutrosophic measures into two types: descriptive and inferential, aiming to broaden the categorization of statistics in these two major areas. Every statistical measure can be contextualized within the neutrosophic framework by acknowledging the inherent imprecision, vagueness, or not fully defined. In this study, the major focus is on reviewing existing neutrosophic measures rather than proposing new ones. The aim is to enhance current neutrosophic structures to make them more …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This study proposed a decision machining methodology to identify and evaluate the risks based on the livestock supply chain (LSC). The risks related to LSC are identified and collected by the opinion of the experts and decision-makers. We collected 11 LSC criteria and nine alternatives. We proposed an uncertainty framework to deal with uncertainty and vague information in the evaluation process. We used the type-2 neutrosophic set (T2NSs) to deal with vague data. The T2NSs were proposed under multi objective optimization based on simple ratio analysis (MOOSRA) to rank the alternatives. We identified nine strategies to reduce risks in LSC. …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
There are studies examining the quality of the physical environment in the restaurant industry. However, these studies have only been conducted using Likert scale. Since the neutrosophic scale has not been used in the restaurant industry before, it is considered to be an important gap. For this reason, it is aimed to investigate the perceptions of physical environmental quality in restaurants by using Likert and neutrosophic scales for the first time. By applying Exploratory Factor Analysis, evidence is presented that a single factor adequately incorporates both scales, thus optimising the assessment procedure. Their consistency and reliability in assessing environmental perceptions …

Solving The Shortest Path Based On The Traveling Salesman Problem With A Genetic Algorithm In A Fermatean Neutrosophic Environment, Prasanta Kumar Raut, Surapati Pramanik, Deepak Kumar Mohapatra, Srikanta Kumar Sahoo
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
The Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is one of the most significant and well-known optimization problem that is frequently limited by uncertainty in edge lengths. Existing methods fail to effectively model and solve such problems in uncertain environments. To address this gap, we propose a novel approach that combines a genetic algorithm (GA) with Fermatean neutrosophic numbers to provide a more robust representation of uncertainty. This work presents a comprehensive framework for evaluating the shortest path in a given network by precisely characterizing uncertain edge lengths. The proposed methodology is tested on various TSP scenarios of varying complexities, demonstrating its ability …

Fail-Safe Logic Design Strategies Within Modern Fpga Architectures, Priya A. Bhakta
Fail-Safe Logic Design Strategies Within Modern Fpga Architectures, Priya A. Bhakta
Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs
Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are vulnerable to radiation-induced single event upsets (SEUs) and fault injection attacks, requiring the use of redundancy techniques such as fail-safe computing. Fail-safe computing refers to computing systems that revert to a non-operational safe state when a fault occurs. This work investigates circuit-level techniques and implements fail-safe computing processes as mitigation for SEUs and fault injection attacks on FPGAs. The analysis reveals vulnerabilities that exist in FPGAs over those in application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC); thus, requiring a more elaborate network of redundant circuits and checking logic. The reconfiguration capability of FPGAs adds complexity to fail-safe …

A Multimodal Examination Of Altered Reward Processing In Anhedonia, Christopher J.H. Pirrung
Psychology ETDs
Anhedonia refers to a complex deficit in depression, characterized by deficits in reward processing. An EEG signal of reward, the Reward Positivity, has been proposed as a potential biomarker of depressive symptoms. In this investigation, we define generative neural sources of the Reward Positivity using MEG and examine the source level deficits of this signal associated with anhedonia. A composite measure of anhedonia was defined in this sample, combining several self-report measures of anhedonia. Ventral hypoactivation was present in depressed individuals alongside a counterintuitive positive correlation with anhedonia. An independent study using fMRI in the same subjects found similar, but …

MVCD power cable has a vital task in future commercial electric aircraft, which is power delivery. The temperature of the cable during the cable’s operation under low pressure is higher than the atmospheric pressure, which increases the cable losses. In this paper, the temperature and electric field across the insulator of the 5 kV DC Southwire cable is simulated up to 10 hours of cable operation. Furthermore, the temperature of the cable is shown with and without the presence of the chamber box. The other issue of the MVDC power cable is the cable joints and terminations. The electric field …
Modelling V-Band Atmospheric Loss With Deep Learning, Ralph Lyndon Gesner
Modelling V-Band Atmospheric Loss With Deep Learning, Ralph Lyndon Gesner
Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs
Modelling atmospheric loss is fundamental to implementation of future mm-wave terrestrial and earth space communication links. Atmospheric losses have traditionally been estimated by calculating the contributions of individual weather phenomena through in-situ meteorological measurements and statistically derived models for estimating localized atmospheric water content. Collecting data for all points along the propagation path and calculating the physical effects of gases, clouds, and precipitation individually is both time consuming and impractical for large-scale use cases.
In response to these present limitations, this work proposes the use of novel deep learning models for estimating atmospheric losses from tabular meteorological sensor data and …

Operations On Submodules With The Multiplicative And Quotient Properties, Jiekai Pang
Mathematics & Statistics ETDs
Inspired by the works of Petro, Epstein, Vassilev, and Morre, this thesis aims to study the generalized definitions of the semiprime operation, weakly prime operation, and standard closure operation on rings, that is, the multiplicative operation, weakly multiplicative operation, and standardly multiplicative operation on submodules. Then, we will use Matlis duality to induce the dual notions of these definitions on submodules of Matlis-dualizable Artinian modules. In order to understand the dual notion of the standardly multiplicative operation, that is, the standardly quotient operation, we will classify the operations on the injective hull of residue field of the ring K[[x,y]]/(xy) which …
