Solicitor Leshy Opinion--Eastern Boundary Of The Sandia Pueblo Grant, John D. Leshy Jan 2001

Solicitor Leshy Opinion--Eastern Boundary Of The Sandia Pueblo Grant, John D. Leshy

Sandia Pueblo Mountain Claim

The question of the proper location of the eastern boundary of the 1748 Spanish land grant to the Pueblo of Sandia in central New Mexico has been a matter of public controversy for many years. In December 1988, Solicitor Ralph Tarr issued an Opinion, in which Secretary Hodel concurred, rejecting the pueblo's claim that the eastern boundary of its grant should be resurveyed and located along the main ridge of the Sandia Mountain rather than along a foothill ridge. My reconsideration of the Tarr Opinion's conclusion on the boundary issue does not depend on a formal remand from the court, …

Salvajes, Civilizados Y Civilizadores : ǂ La Amazonia Ecuatoriana : El Espacio De Las Ilusiones, Patricio Trujillo Montalvo

Overview Of Digital Library Components And Developments, Edward A. Fox

University Libraries & Learning Sciences Faculty and Staff Publications

Digital libraries are being built upon a firm foundation of prior work as the high-end information systems of the future. A component approach is becoming popular, with well-established support for key components like the repository, especially through the Open Archives Initiative. Thus, we separately consider digital objects, metadata, harvesting, indexing, searching, browsing, rights management, linking, and powerful interfaces. Flexible integration will be possible through a variety of architectures, using buses, agents, and other technologies. The field as a whole is undergoing rapid growth, supported by advances in storage, processing, networking, algorithms, and interaction. There are many initiatives and developments, including …

Integrating Indian Law Into A First Year Legal Writing Course, Barbara P. Blumenfeld

Faculty Scholarship

When the author designed the appellate problem for first-year law students, she chose Indian Law because the learning experience transcends subject-specificity. The author discusses how she designs the problem and introduces it to students, and notes reactions from students as they research and prepare their brief.
