Bimetallic Two-Dimensional Metal–Organic Frameworks For The Chemiresistive Detection Of Carbon Monoxide, Aylin Aykanat, Zheng Meng, Robert M. Stolz, Colin T. Morrell, Katherine A. Mirica
New Hampshire EPSCoR
This paper describes the demonstration of a series of heterobimetallic, isoreticular 2D conductive metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with metallophthalocyanine (MPc, M=Co and Ni) units interconnected by Cu nodes towards low-power chemiresistive sensing of ppm levels of carbon monoxide (CO). Devices achieve a sub-part-per-million (ppm) limit of detection (LOD) of 0.53 ppm toward CO at a low driving voltage of 0.1 V. MPc-based Cu-linked MOFs can continuously detect CO at 50 ppm, the permissible exposure limit required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), for multiple exposures, and realize CO detection in air and in humid environment. Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier …

Primary Deposition And Early Diagenetic Effects On The High Saturation Accumulation Of Gas Hydrate In A Silt Dominated Reservoir In The Gulf Of Mexico, Joel E. Johnson, Douglas Macleod, Stephen C. Phillips, Marcie Purkey Phillips, David L. Divins

On continental margins, high saturation gas hydrate systems (>60% pore volume) are common in canyon and channel environments within the gas hydrate stability zone, where reservoirs are dominated by coarse-grained, high porosity sand deposits. Recent studies, including the results presented here, suggest that rapidly deposited, silt-dominated channel-levee environments can also host high saturation gas hydrate accumulations. Here we present several sedimentological data sets, including sediment composition, biostratigraphic age from calcareous nannofossils, grain size, total organic carbon (TOC), C/N elemental ratio, δ13C-TOC, CaCO3, total sulfur (TS), and δ34S-TS from sediments collected with pressure …

Inland waters are the largest natural source of methane (CH4) to the atmosphere, yet the contribution from small streams to this flux is not clearly defined. To fully understand CH4 emissions from streams and rivers, we must consider the relative importance of CH4 emission pathways, the prominence of microbially-mediated production and oxidation of CH4, and the isotopic signature of emitted CH4. Here, we construct a complete CH4 emission budgets for four lowland headwater streams by quantifying diffusive CH4 emissions and comparing them to previously published rates of ebullitive emissions. We also examine the isotopic composition of CH4 along with the …

Brown carbon (BrC) associated with aerosol particles in western United States wildfires was measured between Jul. and Aug. 2019 onboard the NASA DC-8 research aircraft during the Fire Influence on Regional to Global Environments and Air Quality (FIREX-AQ) study. Two BrC measurement methods are investigated; highly spectrally-resolved light absorption in solvent (water and methanol) extracts of particles collected on filters and in-situ bulk aerosol particle light absorption measured at three wavelengths (405, 532, 664 nm) with a photo acoustic spectrometer (PAS). A light absorption closure analysis for wavelengths between 300 and 700 nm was performed. The combined light absorption of …

Biden Approval In Nh Plunges As Approval Among Democrats Falls 1/26/2022, Unh Survey Center
Biden Approval In Nh Plunges As Approval Among Democrats Falls 1/26/2022, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Approval of Joe Biden's performance as President has fallen rapidly since December among Granite Staters and is at the lowest point in his presidency. Much of this decline is due to a fall in support among Democrats, only three-quarters of whom approve of Biden's performance. Less than one in five Granite Staters and only two in five NH Democrats, believe the country is headed in the right direction.

Learning To Cope: Mental Health In Nh Has Improved Despite Covid-19 Pandemic 1/26/2022, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Feelings of depression and anxiety among New Hampshire adults have declined significantly since March 2021. However, about one in eight Granite Staters meet the threshold to be classified as depressed or anxious and one in five say they are feeling high levels of stress. The decline in anxiety and depression is greatest among women and young people.
