Covering The Care: Medical Debt: A Uniquely American Issue, Kimberly Persson

Healthcare is one of the most prominent issues facing Americans due to issues of affordability, access, and potential for debt.1 A July 2025 poll from Kaiser Family Foundation indicates that approximately half of U.S. adults say it is difficult to afford healthcare costs and about one third of adults say they have postponed care in the last year because of the cost.2 According to a 2024 New Hampshire specific survey, 69% of adults have delayed or gone without healthcare due to cost, 71% of adults have experienced a healthcare affordability issue in the past year, and more than …

Covering The Care: Why Financial Resources Matter For Health, Mark Bonica, Phd,Mba,Ms

Where people end up in the income and wealth distribution has a powerful and lasting influence on how healthy they are and how long they live. This is not just a story about poverty versus comfort. Across the entire population, health improves step by step as financial resources increase. Researchers call this pattern the health gradient.
This brief explains why that gradient exists. Drawing on decades of research from economics, public health, and social epidemiology, it shows how limited financial resources shape health through multiple pathways that unfold over different time horizons—from immediate consequences to cumulative effects that build …

Template For A Lab/Group/Team Manual, University Of New Hampshire (Unh) Responsible Conduct Of Research & Scholarly Activity (Rcr) Committee
Integrity in Research and Scholarship
Lab/group/team manuals or handbooks are becoming more common in academic research settings as the research environment grows in complexity. Explaining in writing expectations for how a research group operates as well as providing resources for group members can be invaluable.
The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Responsible Conduct of Research & Scholarly Activity (RCR) Committee developed these templates to help researchers convey important and useful information to their research groups in a consistent manner. Each Principal Investigator (PI) and research group can choose the preferred version template (abbreviated or long) and customize the information to address topics relevant for their …

The Research Initiative for Northeast Grazing Soils (RINGS) is a multi-institutional collaboration with a mission to advance the understanding of soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics in grazing systems across the northeastern United States. RINGS distributed a survey between October 2025 and June 2026 to researchers and practitioners across the Northeast to identify where SOC data has been collected and the basic field and lab methods used. The survey asked participants to describe existing soil datasets collected on land directly or indirectly impacted by grazing livestock. The survey was distributed to colleagues of RINGS researchers that work at university, corporate and …

Simple Guide To Research Integrity For Undergraduate Researchers, Julie Simpson
Simple Guide To Research Integrity For Undergraduate Researchers, Julie Simpson
Integrity in Research and Scholarship
Involving undergraduates in research is valuable for their education and important for their career development, vital for science, and rewarding for supervisors. Instilling the importance of research integrity as fundamental to the advancement of knowledge may be challenging, particularly for first time trainees, as they learn the research process and their attendant responsibilities. This simple guide was developed to assist researchers who oversee the work of undergraduate trainees address basic concepts and topics. After the core values which establish the basis for the integrity of research and scholarship broadly, the ordering of concepts/topics does not represent a hierarchy; the sequence …
A Simple Guide For Researchers And Institutional Review Boards (Irbs) To Protect Data Integrity In Online Human Subjects Survey Research, Julie Simpson
Integrity in Research and Scholarship
Researchers have used the internet to collect data for over two decades. More recently, however, online research has become a target for fraudulent respondents, particularly when researchers offer monetary incentives for participation in a study. This guide will briefly outline the evolution of internet-based human subjects research, explore the current environment for online data collection from human participants, outline strategies for researchers and Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) to help minimize and identify fraudulent responses and protect data integrity in online surveys, and discuss the challenges of balancing data integrity with research participant welfare.

The Influence Of Servant Leadership On Team Adaptability During Organizational Change, Mark Lloyd L. Leyva
M.S. in Leadership
Organizational change, an inevitable element of modern workplaces, often introduces stress, uncertainty, and the need for resilience among employees. This study investigates the impact of servant leadership on team adaptability during such transitions. Servant leadership, characterized by empathy, empowerment, trust-building, and support, presents a human-centered alternative to traditional, authority-driven leadership models that prioritize compliance. This research explores how servant leadership behaviors foster resilience, engagement, and adaptability within teams experiencing organizational change. A mixed-methods approach will be utilized, combining quantitative surveys to measure employee adaptability and engagement with qualitative interviews to delve into perceptions of servant leadership behaviors. Existing literature suggests …

Emotional intelligence is a concept that has been gaining traction in recent decades, and organizations have been trying to assess its place within leadership and training. Previous research on this topic has shown the growing importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace, with particular attention to employee retention and satisfaction. By using a mixed methods approach to understand the importance of emotional intelligence (EI), this paper explores the specific components of EI employees look for in an organization and a leader. Using a survey of almost one hundred respondents and six in-depth interviews, EI was determined to have a significant …
