Behavior Plans And Human Rights, Shelley Lapoint
Behavior Plans And Human Rights, Shelley Lapoint
M.S. in Leadership
There are many individuals who are not aware of the rights that all humans have. The focus of this paper is to educate these individuals on individuals with disabilities rights and how they can still be supported without their rights being violated. Individuals with disabilities do not always know and understand what their rights are. This paper will encourage others to advocate on their behalf and kill the myth that individuals with disabilities do not have the same rights as individuals without disabilities.

Eight Ways Nature Supports New Hampshire's Economy, Shannon H. Rogers, Cody G. Crytzer
UNH Cooperative Extension
New Hampshire is fortunate to have many natural assets that support our quality of life and economic vibrancy. In a new info brief we share eight specific ways nature is supporting New Hampshire's economy through accessible cartoon vignettes. These ideas have been generated through the Nature Economy Collaborative working group at UNH.

Climate change is an existential threat to the vast global permafrost domain. The diverse human cultures, ecological communities, and biogeochemical cycles of this tenth of the planet depend on the persistence of frozen conditions. The complexity, immensity, and remoteness of permafrost ecosystems make it difficult to grasp how quickly things are changing and what can be done about it. Here, we summarize terrestrial and marine changes in the permafrost domain with an eye toward global policy. While many questions remain, we know that continued fossil fuel burning is incompatible with the continued existence of the permafrost domain as we know …

A growing majority of Granite Staters disapprove of President Joe Biden's overall job performance and two-thirds, a record high, disapprove of his handling of the economy. Half of New Hampshire residents are driving and eating out less due to high inflation. Republicans blame President Biden and government spending for high inflation, Democrats place more blame on businesses raising prices and the war in Ukraine, and majorities of both parties blame the Federal Reserve.

Brown carbon (BrC) associated with aerosol particles in western United States wildfires was measured between July and August 2019 aboard the NASA DC-8 research aircraft during the Fire Influence on Regional to Global Environments and Air Quality (FIREX-AQ) study. Two BrC measurement methods are investigated, highly spectrally resolved light absorption in solvent (water and methanol) extracts of particles collected on filters and in situ bulk aerosol particle light absorption measured at three wavelengths (405, 532 and 664 nm) with a photoacoustic spectrometer (PAS). A light-absorption closure analysis for wavelengths between 300 and 700 nm was performed. The combined light absorption of particle …

The physical and chemical changes that accompany permafrost thaw directly influence the microbial communities that mediate the decomposition of formerly frozen organic matter, leading to uncertainty in permafrost–climate feedbacks. Although changes to microbial metabolism and community structure are documented following thaw, the generality of post-thaw assembly patterns across permafrost soils of the world remains uncertain, limiting our ability to predict biogeochemistry and microbial community responses to climate change. Based on our review of the Arctic microbiome, permafrost microbiology, and community ecology, we propose that Assembly Theory provides a framework to better understand thaw-mediated microbiome changes and the implications for community …
