Nearly Half Of Granite Staters Report Having Tested Positive For Covid-19 10/19/2022, Unh Survey Center
All UNH Survey Center Polls
Nearly half of New Hampshire residents say they have tested positive for COVID-19 at least once, up significantly since February. Seven in ten adults in the state say they are fully vaccinated and have received at least one booster. Nearly all who have not been vaccinated say they will not do so. Most who have received at least one booster plan to receive another within the next year. Stress related to the pandemic has declined since February but remains higher among women than men.

Improvement Of Meaningful Referrals Following Nursing Assessment Of Oncology Patient Distress, Genesis Sullivan
Improvement Of Meaningful Referrals Following Nursing Assessment Of Oncology Patient Distress, Genesis Sullivan
M. S. in Nursing Health Care Leadership
The purpose of this project was to transition a current paper-based assessment into the electronic medical record chart and develop automated referrals to trigger off the responses. I selected this project because delays in searching for the scanned paper assessment and manual referral entry could negatively impact the patient’s treatment journey. Methods used included bringing a multidisciplinary team together and reviewing multiple nursing and medical journeys for best practices on electronic assessments. Collaboration with the formed team including the Information Technology department was necessary and the development of new nursing workflows. Education to nursing colleagues was required before implementation. The …

Strategies To Retain Nurses And Prevent Turnover, Elizabeth Cooper
M. S. in Nursing Health Care Leadership
This quality improvement project is an assessment of burnout on one acute care nursing unit and an analysis of an opportunity for nurse retention work. The project required the analysis of best practices, exploring burnout with one nursing staff, and assessing best practices in order to recommend strategies to retain nurses long term. Significant collaboration was required with a nurse manager and staff nurses to propose a few tangible strategies for nurse support, including the intentional use of stress management techniques and the addition of a new role, the nurse retentionist.

Improving The Referral And Prior Authorization Process For Non-Health System Orders, Ashley Eastman
Improving The Referral And Prior Authorization Process For Non-Health System Orders, Ashley Eastman
M.S. in Health Care Management
The purpose of this project was to review the current referral and prior authorization process and identify areas of improvement of the Financial Clearance, Outside Order Control position at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. The Outside Order Control role receives orders from practices not within Epic software, verifies the order, and passes on to the scheduling department. There was a need for this research at the hospital, as one of their main initiatives is to reduce prior authorization denials. Methods included shadowing and connecting with managers over equivalent departments at Mass General Hospital to determine differences between Wentworth Douglass and their processes. …
