Nearly three-quarters of Maine residents rate the state as a very good or good place to live with Republicans and Northern Mainers more downbeat. Only a quarter of Mainers describe the state as affordable. Three in ten say they are likely to move out of Maine within the next five years, including half of Republicans, with lower housing costs, cost of living, and taxes frequently sought after, along with a different political or social environment. If they were to leave the state, Mainers are most likely to say they would move to New Hampshire or Massachusetts.

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez heads the field of prospective Democratic candidates in the 2028 New Hampshire presidential primary, followed closely by former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. Ocasio-Cortez draws much of her support from self-described socialists and progressives, while support for Buttigieg is spread about evenly among progressives, liberals, and moderates. Vice President JD Vance continues to lead on the Republican side, though Secretary of State Marco Rubio has closed the gap significantly over the past few months. Over half of recent Democratic primary voters prefer Troy Jackson as the Democratic nominee for Senate. Most Democratic primary voters believe Graham Platner's withdrawal from the race was the right decision. Jackson and incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins are statistically tied in a November election matchup. Collins earns high marks from Mainers on bringing federal dollars to the state during her tenure in office but receives lower ratings on her votes on key legislation, Cabinet nominees, and Supreme Court justices. This study focuses on how demographic shifts within higher education have influenced leadership practices, specifically within enrollment management and campus event programming. As student populations become increasingly diverse, institutions are challenged to change their recruitment, engagement, and support strategies to meet the needs of first-generation, low-income, and non-traditional learners. Healthcare organizations operate in increasingly complex environments where effective communication, employee engagement, and patient safety are essential to organizational success. Despite the importance of employee voice, many healthcare professionals hesitate to express concerns, report errors, or share ideas for improvement because of perceived interpersonal and organizational risks. This study examines how leadership communication and organizational trust influence psychological safety and employee voice within healthcare organizations. Using a qualitative literature review, the study synthesizes scholarly research from healthcare leadership, organizational behavior, organizational psychology, healthcare management, and patient safety. Most Bay Staters Believe Police Concealed Evidence In Read Case & Police Conduct Is Evidence Of Wider Problem 7/1/2026, Unh Survey Center

In the Karen Read case, majorities of Bay Staters believe police concealed evidence in the case and believe police conduct is indicative of a wider problem with policing in Massachusetts. Generally speaking, pluralities of Massachusetts residents believe state and local police in the commonwealth do a good job protecting people from crime, treating racial and ethnic groups equally, and using the right amount of force, but four in ten believe police do a poor job holding officers responsible when misconduct occurs. Nearly all Massachusetts residents feel comfortable calling 911 when needed.

Foulkes leads in a hypothetical general election matchup with a generic Republican nominee and Independent Ken Block, while McKee is tied with a Republican nominee and Block. Incumbent Democratic Senator Jack Reed continues to lead challenger Connor Burbridge in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.
