EXPLANATION OF TEST REPORT: John Deere A

TEST A: The manufacturer's representative operates the tractor for a minimum of 12 hours using light to heavy drawbar loads in each gear.

This serves as a period for limber up, general observation and adjustments. Adjustments that are permissible include valve tappet clearance, breaker ,point gap, spark plug gaps, clutch and others of a similar nature. No new parts or accessories can be installed without having mention made of it in the report. No data' are recorded during this preliminary run except the time that the engine is operated.

This paper represents the results of almost continuous research by the Nebraska State Geological Survey on Tertiary stratigraphy in Nebraska during a perIod of more than 10 years, with special attention to the present acceptable stratigraphic nomenclature. Cogent reasons are presented for the retention of such well-known names as White River, Arikaree, and Ogallala, all now redefined and elevated to group ranking. “Loup Fork” and “Loup River,” "Nebraska beds", and “Republican River" are considered obsolete. The application of fossil seed zones to problems of correlation is noted. The table of Tertiary Formations of Nebraska summarizes the Tertiary stratigraphy in Nebraska.

The work of identifying grasses may seem technical and limited only to botanists or those with similar training. The recent agitation for moratoria on debts and taxes and the many tax reforms suggested are evidence of the need for such study. Before satisfactory reforms can be made, information on receipts and expenditures by governmental agencies must be secured. When the average person thinks of the Czech settlements of Nebraska, he is apt to have in mind the large numbers of this national group who are located in the comparatively centralized area of Douglas, Saunders, Butler, Saline, and Colfax Counties. Tubers of the Triumph variety of potatoes, the one most extensively grown in western Nebraska, are more susceptible than those of other varieties to the various types of injury that occur at harvest time. This greater susceptibility is chiefly the result of long stolons, unusual tenderness of skin, and ease with which the tubers crack.
