These are difficult times. My to-do list written throughout the years for that time I’d be free for chores and projects is now at the Smithsonian Museum, a historic relic next to Pinocchio’s early promises. For some, the days are leisurely. For me, since my refrigerator knows my name, my step counter stepped out the door from exhaustion. At first this appliance would say, “Hey Jan, come take a look. You don’t have to pick anything, just look.”

In many ways September marks the beginning of the year. It’s always struck me as the fastest month. Sept. 1 hits, then everything hits — school, football, back-to-school night — and then in a blink it’s Oct. 1. This coming September will be every bit as frenetic but with an unprecedented twist. Department of Music Faculty Publications

Malnutrition among older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) is a serious and long-recognized health concern.
