Action: Legislative Authority

Senate Doc 2023-06 paused the 4-year CAP review process with the requirement that we revert back to the original 4-year review process if a new one is not approved by the APC and the Academic Senate and able to be implemented by Fall 2025. The Academic Policies Committee (APC) of the Academic Senate was charged with designing an alternative review plan. This work does not impact or change any aspect of the existing course approval process.

APC is proposing a workshop model to replace the former 4-year CAP review process. Details of the workshop model are discussed …

Computer Science Faculty Publications

Removing photobombing elements from images is a challenging task that requires sophisticated image inpainting techniques. Despite the availability of various methods, their effectiveness depends on the complexity of the image and the nature of the distracting element. To address this issue, we conducted a benchmark study to evaluate 10 state-of-the-art photobombing removal methods on a dataset of over 300 images. Our study focused on identifying the most effective image inpainting techniques for removing unwanted regions from images. We annotated the photobombed regions that require removal and evaluated the performance of each method using peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index …

For this article, I sought to explore the meaning of and use for the sacrament of confirmation in the Catholic Church. To do so, I first began with a philosophical claim about God's grace with the help of Louis-Marie Chauvet. This paper attempts to draw attention to setbacks in the development of lesbian characters in television using the lens of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The fashion and villainization of lesbian characters as well as their misrepresentation regarding bisexuality are all examined in this analysis of the way heterosexual norms affect how lesbianism is portrayed in media. The purpose of this essay is to explain how stereotypes stemming from societal beliefs regarding lesbians feed into and are amplified by representations of lesbians in television.
