What writer wouldn’t want to spend two all-expenses-paid, blissful weeks at a hotel in Dayton, Ohio? Yes, a hotel. Room service. An omelet bar. The sun rising over the Great Miami River. It’s the ultimate gift for any writer — the luxury of time to write…and on the “Dayton Riviera,” no less.

What writer wouldn't want to spend two all-expenses-paid, blissful weeks at a hotel in Dayton, Ohio? Yes, a hotel. It's the ultimate gift for any writer - the luxury of time to write.

The problem of food spoilage is not new; it is one of the oldest problems in mankind’s history. As old as the problem itself, are ways of addressing the problem. Removing moisture from food is a way to preserve the food for long periods of time, whether it be grapes with raisins, or meat with jerky. A study performed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology predicts that 30% of the food grown in India spoils before it is eaten. [3] The article goes on to advocate the use of solar food dryer as a way to prevent spoilage and to …

The purpose of the work done in Cochabamba, Bolivia was to improve upon the process for using dry urine-diverting toilets. CONSES, the partner organization, already had a basic method to eliminate pathogens in human feces using a solar oven followed by composting the pathogen-free product. However, the overall process took too much time and the compost piles attracted pests.
To fix these problems, various types of solar ovens and modifications were researched in addition to various methods of composting. In order to make an oven that was the most inexpensive, durable, and capable of high temperatures, a solar box cooker …

America is Doomed. God Hates Obama. Fags Doom Nations. Thank God for Dead Soldiers. All these are signs held up at military funerals by members of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas. In God Hates sociologist Rebecca Barrett-Fox gives us the first full-scale examination of Westboro, and it makes for fascinating and horrifying reading. She begins her study with an ethnography of the church, including a biography of founding pastor Fred Phelps, that makes use of interviews with church members to delineate Westboro’s hyper-Calvinist theology and its understanding of the connection between individual sin (particularly, homosexuality) and national …

Prior to the move, the rare book collection and archival holdings were stored in less than ideal conditions. In 2014, a consultant from Lyrasis conducted a preservation assessment …

In a recent report on the patterns of tree species richness in eastern and western North America, Marks et al. (2016) claimed to have identified an operational indicator of environmental harshness (maximum tree height) and concluded that environmental stressors that limit tree height also act as ecological filters on species richness. Marks et al. (2017) attributed the positive association between species richness and maximum tree height to both the direct effects of environmental harshness on species richness and the indirect effects of environmental harshness on species richness as mediated by maximum tree height.
This finding overlooked the fact that many …
