Walt Disney World: Background And Philosophy, Marty Sklar
Walt Disney World: Background And Philosophy, Marty Sklar
Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers
This assemblage has been prepared as a background and starting point for developing a "philosophy" for the Disneyland-style theme park in Walt Disney World. There is a great deal of other material, particularly articles about Disneyland, that might have been included. However, the intent here is to provide, as a foundation, Walt's thinking and philosophy as it was applied in Disneyland, and additionally Walt's thoughts about Walt Disney World as they apply to what we are now beginning."--WED Enterprises, Inc., inter-office communication, September 21, 1967, written by Marty Skyler.

Economic Analysis Of Rail Transportation System For Mineral King, Economics Research Associates
Economic Analysis Of Rail Transportation System For Mineral King, Economics Research Associates
Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers
The National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior requested Walt Disney Productions to submit data on the relative feasibility of two transportation systems to Mineral King, California. The alternatives were a modern all-weather highway, as proposed by the State Division of Highways, or a railroad. The original economic evaluation of Mineral King’s development potentials prepared by Economics Research Associates (ERA) and submitted to the U.S. Forest Service in support of an application for a use permit assumed a new highway. Dependence on rail transportation in lieu of an adequate highway has serious implications for both attendance and …

Economic Appraisal Of The Proposed Universal City Development Plan, Economics Research Associates
Economic Appraisal Of The Proposed Universal City Development Plan, Economics Research Associates
Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers
Universal City, owned by MCA Inc., encompassed some 410 acres adjacent to the Hollywood Freeway, gateway to suburban San Fernando Valley. In 1967, television and motion picture operations occupied approximately 200 acres of the total. MCA management believed that in future years approximately 140 acres would be adequate for studio operations. Economics Research Associates was retained to determine an appropriate land use program for the remaining 270 acres. Earlier studies completed since 1963 indicated the optimum development program was a mixture of urban land uses, including 1, 250,000 square feet of commercial office space, 3,000 high rise and garden apartment …
