UBT International Conference

Through the use of the analytical method known as Flame Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (FAAS), we have analyzed a certain number of red and white wines. The aim of this study work has been to determine quantitatively the presence of Fe, Cu and Zn in different wines, and during different stages of winemaking, and whether these heavy metals are present within the limits set by the EU directive EC 606/2009 and OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine). None of the analyzed samples has exceeded the limits set by the EU and OIV, expect here a sample (Rhine Riesling) which we …

Impact Of Temperature On Beer Fermentation Kinetics, Hasime Manaj, Luljeta Pinguli, Ilirjan Malollari, Anisa Dhroso

UBT International Conference

Microbial processes are highly dependent on temperature. This paper aims to study the influence of temperature on fermentation process on experimental and industrial scale. We were focused to determine the pre- exponential coefficients and the activation energy for experimental and industrial conditions and to quantify the amount of heat to be removed from fermenter to keep it under constant temperature during fermentation process. Substrate used for fermentation was beer industrial wort 120 Balling and yeast strain used was bottom fermentation yeast "Saccharomyces Carlsbegensis SP 35". Evaluation and comparison of kinetic parameters in different fermentation conditions were carried out. Temperatures used …

Rooting is a process that is induced by many difficulties, especially in fruit trees. For this reason, four nutrient terrains that contain different concentrations of auxin ANA (α-naphthaleneacetic acid), BAP, GA3 and macro and micronutrient MSs are compared. Rizogenesis is observed after three to four weeks of cultivation on the ground of rupture. Explants react differently in each field used (Figures 4,5,6,7). The concentration of inorganic and auxinous ANA salts on the nutrient terrains affects the rooting index and the characteristics of the roots. Plants of the prunus cerasium L species showed better results during rooting cultivation I, where the …

Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing: Case Study On Web Application Security, Gazmend Krasniqi, Veton Bejtullahu

UBT International Conference

Complexity of information systems are increasing day by day. The security of information systems that are connected to public networks can be compromised by unauthorized, and usually anonymous, attempts to access them. By using public networks businesses and other institutions are exposed to numerous risks. This leads to more and more vulnerabilities in Information Systems. This situation calls for test methods that are devised from the attacker’s perspective to ensure that test conditions are as realistic as possible. In this paper we will describe complete stages of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing on some systems in UBT and proactive action …

Proteases are group of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of proteins, resulting in peptide and amino acid production. These are considered as commercially most significant among industrial enzymes, consisting about 60% of the total enzyme market. Proteases have wide areas of application in several industries like food, detergent, textile, pulp and paper, and pharmaceutical industries, as these offer environmentally benign, sustainable solutions to several challenges in the corresponding industry.Enzymes can be produced by plants, animals or microorganisms, yet the majority is produced by (recombinant) microorganisms, typically with modified features for high enzyme production. However, for e.g. food industry, the use …

Modeling The Effect Of Temperature On Rheological Properties Of Red Wine, Anisa Dhroso, Hasime Manaj, Ilirjan Malollari, Berisha Varvara

UBT International Conference

Wine is an alcoholic beverage produced through the partial or total fermentation of grapes. Wine is characterized by color: white, pink or rose, and red. Red wine available in Albanian market was characterized for physicochemical and rheological properties. In the first phase, the physicochemical parameters were determined: density, total acidity, volatile acids, content of the alcohol, reduced sugars, free SO2, total SO2, pH and electric conductivity. In the second phase of the study, density and dynamic viscosity were experimentally determined as a function of temperature from 5 to 40°C. Kinematic viscosity and fluidity were determined according to the definitions. The …

Albanian Internal And International Migration, Edmond Dragoti, Emanuela Ismaili Oct 2018

Albanian Internal And International Migration, Edmond Dragoti, Emanuela Ismaili

UBT International Conference

Albania’s international and internal migrations remain complex phenomena to describe and quantify. Irregular migration adds more complexity to understanding international migration and estimates fluctuate across sources of information. As a result, international and internal migration has collectively changed the demographic landscape of Albania. The consequences go beyond the total population estimate and affect other domains, such as the overall economic and infrastructure changes in the country, the labor market, and gender- and age- ratios. This study attempted to uncover some of the characteristics of contemporary Albanian migration, the paths and trajectories and the rationale behind them, whereas the estimates provided …

An Aplication Of Mcda Method To Evaluate And Select The Most Suitable Landfill Sites For Urban Waste. A Project Case Study For Berat County. Albania, Robert Kosova, Fabiana Cullhaj, Teuta Thanasi, Arben Reka, Taulant Kullolli, Gjergji Thanasi

UBT International Conference

Waste management system needs clear and strict management policy. They also need a process of evaluating and selecting the most appropriate landfill sites that respect the restrictions and constraints dictated by the presence of the population in that area, with respect to ecological ecosystems and other factors. In addition to the geographical and geological criteria and other specifications that are defined by traditional selection procedures, there are new factors adding to the old constraints and limitations. Urban waste is produced in large quantities in our cities, every year. As a result, the number of sites should increase with the population …

Emission Reduction Opportunities Of Coal-Fired Steam Generator, Marigona Krasniqi, Risto Filkoski

UBT International Conference

Energy and its production today has become one of the most controversial topics. Power plants around the world produce energy with different sources, but so far there is no energy source that can make competition with coal for many years and for many reasons. Even though power plants with this kind of fuel have their own advantages, the biggest drawbacks are the release of hazardous and toxic substances. These emission components negatively affect the environment and for this reason in many countries of the world, are described the limits of the emitting rate. For this purpose, in this paper there …

Industrial Contamination Impact On Food Chain In Correlation To Poultry Eggs, Afete-Shala Musliu, Nexhat Balaj, Sami Makolli

UBT International Conference

Industrial contamination is one of the biggest concerns nowadays. The town of Mitrovica is located in the northern part of Kosovo, around 40 km north of the capital Pristina, with around 330 km2 and approximately 71,600 inhabitants, excluding the northern part of the city, in an altitude of about 500-550m. The town has the largest complex of mining and metallurgy in Europe -"Trepça", known for exploitation of Pb, Zn and Cd, and, as a consequence, Mitrovica continues to be one of the most polluted cities in Kosovo as in air, soil and water. The anthropogenic source of heavy metals in …
