Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research
High-risk neuroblastoma (HR-NB) is an aggressive form of childhood cancer with a five-year survival rate of less than 50%, underscoring the need for more efficacious and less toxic treatments. The glycoprotein vitronectin (VN) has been linked to poor prognosis in patients with HR-NB, thus inhibitors of VN function represent a promising avenue for molecular mechanotherapy. This study investigated the binding affinity between the somatomedin B (SMB) domain of VN and natural compounds from the medicinal plant, Olax subscorpioidea, targeting the plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1). The therapeutic potential of α-amyrin (AMY), lupeol (LUP), and olax chalcone A (olax CHA) was tested …

Mempertanyakan Keyakinan Pada Kemampuan Artificial Intelligence Khususnya Strong Ai: Sebuah Perspektif Realis Kritis, Meutia Irina Mukhlis

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most popular albeit divisive topics up for debate today. On the one hand, die-hard proponents of AI believe that AI may one day come close to possessing human-level intelligence or even supersedes it (this view of AI is called strong AI) while on the other, some seem unconvinced of the promises of strong AI and prefer to believe in a weaker form of AI, an AI that might be able to do some functions humans assign to them or simulate basic level of human intelligence. This paper leans more toward the latter’s view. …

Indonesian Journal of Public Health Nutrition (IJPHN)
Malnutrition continues to threaten child health globally, with Thailand mirroring this trend: in 2022, 12.4% of children under five were stunted, 7.2% wasted, and 10.9% obese. While the country’s First 1,000 Days initiative—targeting pregnancy to age two—yielded early success in reducing undernutrition, emerging gaps among 3–5-year-olds prompted a policy shift toward a broader 2,500-day framework. This approach, launched in 2022, extends care from preconception through age five and integrates multisectoral action involving five key ministries. Anchored in the “Power of Three Pillars”—policy, partnerships, and resources—the initiative strengthens local governance, enhances service delivery, and fosters family and community engagement through sub-district …
