The Impact Of Social Capital On Crowdfunding Performance, Lady Aprilia, Sigit S. Wibowo
The South East Asian Journal of Management
This study aims to analyze the effects of social capital—namely structural, relational, and cognitive dimensions—on crowdfunding performance using Kitabisa.com as a case study for 2013-2015. Using robust ordinary least squares methods, we find two important results. Structural dimension, which is measured by Facebook friends owned by an entrepreneur, affects crowdfunding success. The cognitive dimension, which is measured by the number of words that are written by entrepreneurs in the platform, also affects crowdfunding opportunities in order to wage a successful campaign. Using logistic regression technique, this study finds the same result, namely that the structural dimension and cognitive dimension have …

Filipino College Students' Views On The Value Of Phisical Appeal To Political Leadership, Jonalou S. Labor
The South East Asian Journal of Management
Musings of thirty-six college students from three higher educational institutions in the Manila, Philippines were used to look at the constructs of physical appeal and its power to influence leadership. By thematically analyzing the musings of the students, the research found physical appeal concepts that are associated to leadership. The study revealed that the students perceive leadership in two ways: from “within” the leader such as skills and knowledge, and from the “outside” where leadership is associated to goals, to influences, and to authority. In terms of physical appeal, leaders are expected to possess physical beauty (kagandahanganyo). Moreover, leaders are …

Chitinase is an enzyme that degrades chitin on β-1,4-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-glycoside bound to produce Chitin oligosaccharide or its soluble monomer, N-acetylglucosamine (NAG). Chitinase are usually produced naturally by chitinolytic microorganism that are found in soil or water environment. Chitinase have been widely used for biocontrol agents of plant pests. The product from chitinase hydrolysis can be used as antiinflammatory agent and anti hyperpigmentation. This research was aimed to screen and evaluate the chitinolytic ability of 9 isolate. The best isolate was the one which produced high chitinolytic activity and hydrolyzed chitin into NAG. 9 isolate were examined and BPPTCC-2 was the best …

Legal Status Of Individual Bankrupt Debtors After Termination Of Bankruptcy And Rehabilitation Under Indonesian Bankruptcy Law, Sonnyendah Retnaningsih, Isis Ikwansyah
Indonesia Law Review
The Indonesian bankruptcy law system adheres to the debt collective principle which is general seizure (sita umum) of the debtor’s property as guarantee for the payment of debt through the bankruptcy institution. The principle of debt collective stresses that the debtor’s debt shall be paid immediately from the property owned by the debtor. Based on such principle, bankruptcy serves as a means of coercion to materialize the creditors’ rights through liquidation of the debtor’s assets. Bankruptcy law in Indonesia does not recognize the principle of debt forgiveness, among others, the implementation of debt relief granted to the debtor to pay …

Mucoadhesive dosage form is a pharmaceutical dosage form with prolonged gastric residence time which can increase bioavailability of drugs. An excipient with suitable swelling and bioadhesive characteristics plays important role to obtain good mucoadhesive dosage form. Our pre-eliminary study showed that chitosan-xanthan gum polyelectrolyte complex (CXPC) in ratio 1:1 exhibit suitable swelling index to be developed as mucoadhesive dosage forms. This research was performed to study CXPC characteristics as matrix for mucoadhesive granules dosage form matrix. In this study CXPC 1:1 was utilized as the matrix in the mucoadhesive granules with drug-CXPC ratio of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3, using diltiazem …

The increased oral Candida colonization that resulted for radiotherapy often leads to candidiasis. Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) is a technique of delivering radiation with improved dose distributions sparing the surrounding normal tissue and decreasing the ill-effects. Objective: To identify and quantify changes in the Candidal carriage of patients undergoing IMRT for head and neck malignancy. Methods: Saliva from 37 patients undergoing IMRT for head and neck malignancy was collected. The Candida species profile pre- and post-IMRT was evaluated using semi quantitative fungal culture. The changes in the distribution of the growth of Candida species due to IMRT was analyzed using …

Confucius Institute At Universitas Al Azhar, Jakarta; The Unseen Power Of China, Thung Ju Lan
Wacana, Journal of the Humanities of Indonesia
China's soft power is a difficult concept to measure if the Confucius Institute is the only source relied on. Joseph Nye's concept of soft power puts a strong emphasis on "the power of attraction" as a tool to persuade or "to shape the preferences of others" in the worlds of business and politics. To understand how this soft power - or the Confucius Institute - works, we have to determine the "observable" power of the "intangible" attraction embedded in it. This observable but intangible attraction is assumed to be "embedded"in the language and culture offered by the Institute, namely so-called …

Chinese Indonesians After May 1998 How They Fit In The Big Picture, Dewi Anggraeni

For Chinese Indonesians, May 1998 is a significant historical marker, twelfth and thirteenth being two concentrated days of riots and atrocities in Jakarta, followed by more, albeit on smaller scales, in Solo, Surabaya, and a number of other cities. Destruction of properties belonging to them, and rapes of their women, occurred. Then Indonesia witnessed the end of Suharto's rule when the president resigned on 21 May 1998. A gradual political turn-around followed; Chinese Indonesians found room to move. The subsequent governments revoked restrictive regulations put in place by the New Order government, and lifted the suppression on cultural expression by …

Lithium bis (oxalate) borate or LiBOB compound has captured interest of researchers, because it is potentially viable to be used as electrolyte salt in lithium-ion battery system. This compound is easy to synthesize and considered to be more environmentally friendly compared to conventional electrolyte salt because LiBOB does not contain halogen element. This research focused on the synthesis of LiBOB fine powder, which main purpose is improving LiBOB salt solubility in liquid electrolyte solution. This will aid the ion transfer between electrodes which in turn will increase the electrolyte performance. Solid state reaction was employed in this experiment. Synthesis of …

It is well known that zeolite is an efficient metal ions adsorbent. The excess charge of the zeolite building blocks i.e. (AlO4)-5 and (SiO4)-4 creating a negative surface charge that attract metal cations. Beside the surface charge, zeolite also has three dimensional pore structure and reasonably large surface area which also can be used as adsorption sites. Ease of cation uptake make it suitable for many process with adsorption and desorption application. This study was conducted to observe the sorption and ion exchange behaviour of zeolite-betonite rings toward iron and cobalt cations. The results shows that the adsorption patterns follow …
