The Effect Of Ischemia Reperfusion On Intestinal Contractility Regulated By The Nitrergic System, Fatma Çağlayan, Ayşe Şahi̇n, Engi̇n Günel, Murat Çakmak, Osman Çağlayan
The Effect Of Ischemia Reperfusion On Intestinal Contractility Regulated By The Nitrergic System, Fatma Çağlayan, Ayşe Şahi̇n, Engi̇n Günel, Murat Çakmak, Osman Çağlayan
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
Because of the interaction between nitric oxide (NO) and the superoxide anion radical, the effect of ischemia-reperfusion on intestinal contractility regulated by the nitrergic system was investigated in the present study. The study was performed on 3 groups of rabbits: group 1, ischemia; group 2, ischemia and 1 h of reperfusion; group 3, ischemia and 24 h of reperfusion. Tissue samples were obtained from ischemic, ischemia-reperfused and adjacent uninjured intestines as study and control samples. The effects of atropine, tetrodotoxin, L-NAME and L-arginine on the intestinal response to electrical field stimulation (EFS) were investigated. Guanethidine was used to minimize adrenergic …

Realizations Of The Osp(2,1) Superalgebra And Related Physical Systems, Hayri̇ye Tütüncüler, Ramazan Koç
Realizations Of The Osp(2,1) Superalgebra And Related Physical Systems, Hayri̇ye Tütüncüler, Ramazan Koç
Turkish Journal of Physics
Eigenvalues and eigenfunction of two-boson 2 \times 2 Hamiltonians in the framework of the superalgebra osp(2,1) are determined by presenting a similarity transformation. The Hamiltonians include two bosons and one fermion have been transformed in the form of the one variable differential equations and the conditions for its solvability have been discussed. It is observed that the Hamiltonians of the various physical systems can be written in terms of the generators of the osp(2,1) superalgebra and under some certain conditions their eigenstates can exactly be obtained. In particular, the procedure given here is useful in determining eigenstates of the Jaynes-Cummings …
Empirical Correlations Of Global Solar Radiation With Meteorological Data For Onne, Nigeria, Louis E. Akpabio, Sunday O. Udo, Sunday E. Etuk
Empirical Correlations Of Global Solar Radiation With Meteorological Data For Onne, Nigeria, Louis E. Akpabio, Sunday O. Udo, Sunday E. Etuk
Turkish Journal of Physics
Multiple linear regression models were developed to estimate the monthly average daily global solar radiation using ten parameters during a period of sixteen years (1984 to 1999) for Onne, Nigeria; the extraterrestrial radiation, average daily temperature, ratio of minimum and maximum daily temperature, relative humidity, ratio of sunshine duration, solar declination, average soil temperature, average pan evaporimeter, average rain fall and average daily dew. Even though up to ten variable correlations has been developed; the results showed that eight variable correlations with the highest value of correlation coefficient R gives the best result when considering the error terms (mean percentage …
Variation In Essential Oil Content And Composition In Turkish Anise (Pimpinella Anisum L.) Populations*, Neşet Arslan, Bi̇lal Gürbüz, Ercüment O. Sarihan, Ali̇ Bayrak, Ahmet Gümüşçü
Variation In Essential Oil Content And Composition In Turkish Anise (Pimpinella Anisum L.) Populations*, Neşet Arslan, Bi̇lal Gürbüz, Ercüment O. Sarihan, Ali̇ Bayrak, Ahmet Gümüşçü
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
This research was carried out at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Agriculture, Field Crops Department and the laboratories of the Food Engineering Department. Twenty-nine anise seed samples were collected from different locations in 9 producer provinces in Turkey and were used as the study materials in order to determine essential oil and essential oil compositions. According to the results, essential oil levels varied from 1.3% to 3.7%. The major component of the essential oil was trans-anethole. This compound ranged from 78.63% to 95.21%. Population 26 may be recommended for trans-anethole percentage and populations 8 and 22 for essential oil …
Parametrically Tunable Audio Shelving And Equalizing Ladder Wave Digital Filters, S. A. Samad
Parametrically Tunable Audio Shelving And Equalizing Ladder Wave Digital Filters, S. A. Samad
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Parametrically tunable audio equalizers are conventionally realized using allpass digital filter networks. They consist of first-order shelving filters and second-order equalizing filters. In this paper, ladder wave digital filters (WDFs) with parametrically tunable coefficients are proposed as shelving and equalizing filters. Similar to the allpass realization, the transfer function power complementary property of WDFs is used to obtain efficient shelving and equalizing filters. However, unlike the allpass structures, the transfer function and the tunable parameters of the ladder WDF are derived from the analog filter equivalent of the digital shelving and equalizing filters. For the shelving WDF, the cut-off frequency …
Improving The Security And Flexibility Of One-Time Passwords By Signature Chains, Kemal Biçakci, Nazi̇fe Baykal
Improving The Security And Flexibility Of One-Time Passwords By Signature Chains, Kemal Biçakci, Nazi̇fe Baykal
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
While the classical attack of ``monitor the network and intercept the password'' can be avoided by advanced protocols like SSH, one-time passwords are still considered a viable alternative or a supplement for software authentication since they are the only ones that safeguard against attacks on insecure client machines. In this paper by using public-key techniques we present a method called signature chain alternative to Lamport's hash chain to improve security and flexibility of one-time passwords. Our proposition improves the security because first, like other public-key authentication protocols, the server and the user do not share a secret, thereby eliminating attacks …
A Chemotaxonomic Approach To The Fatty Acid And Tocochromanol Content Of Cannabis Sativa L. (Cannabaceae), Eyüp Bağci, Ludger Bruehl, Kurt Aitzetmuller, Yasi̇n Altan
A Chemotaxonomic Approach To The Fatty Acid And Tocochromanol Content Of Cannabis Sativa L. (Cannabaceae), Eyüp Bağci, Ludger Bruehl, Kurt Aitzetmuller, Yasi̇n Altan
Turkish Journal of Botany
In this study, the fatty acid, tocopherol and tocotrienol composition in the seed oil of Cannabis sativa L., which is traded under the common name hemp seed oil, were determined by using GLC and HPLC techniques. While \alpha- linolenic, linoleic, oleic and palmitic acid were the main fatty acid components, \gamma - linolenic (18:3 n-6) and stearidonic acid (18:4 n-3) were found as unusual minor fatty acids in the seed oil. \gamma - linolenic acid is an important fatty acid used both as a healthy nutrient and as a therapeutic agent. The occurrence of this fatty acid in some plant …
