Effects Of Salicylic Acid And Heat Acclimation On Thermotolerance And Withanolide Accumulation Under High Temperature Stress In The Cape Gooseberry (Physalisperuviana L.), Günce Şahi̇n
Turkish Journal of Botany
The adverse effects of high temperature stress can be alleviated by thermotolerance induced by exogenous application of plant growth regulators or by gradual application of temperature stress. Physalis peruviana L., commonly known as the Cape gooseberry, is a source of a variety of phytocompounds such as withanolides (withanone, withaferin A, and withanolide A). These withanolides are potentially high-value drug candidates because of their various pharmacological properties. The production of withanolides via traditional agriculture is commercially inadequate. In the present study, elicitation strategies were employed to improve the crop's thermotolerance and accumulation of withanolides. For these purposes, the effects of heat …

Turkish Journal of Botany
Atriplex mollis Desf. (Amaranthaceae), a North African endemic halophytic species, is further described in this study. Phylogenetic analysis based on a combined dataset of ITS and ETS rDNA and atpB-rbcL and trnK cpDNA showed that A. mollis is closely related to the Malta- and Gozo-endemic Cremnophyton lanfrancoi Brullo & Pavone. Given this close phylogenetic relationship, A. mollis is also considered among the oldest species of Atriplex, together with C. lanfrancoi. Molecular data also suggest that A. mollis in North Africa, C. lanfrancoi on Malta Island, and Atriplex cana Ledeb.in Eurasian semideserts constitute a separate clade within the tribe Atripliceae. As …

Construction Of The Holonomy Invariantfoliated Cocycles On The Tangent Bundle Via Formal Integrability, Fatemeh Ahangari
Construction Of The Holonomy Invariantfoliated Cocycles On The Tangent Bundle Via Formal Integrability, Fatemeh Ahangari
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
This paper is dedicated to exhaustive structural analysis of the holonomy invariant foliated cocycles on the tangent bundle of an arbitrary $(m+n)$-dimensional manifold. For this purpose, by applying Spencer theory of formal integrability, sufficient conditions for the metric associated with the semispray $S$ are determined to extend to a transverse metric for the lifted foliated cocycle on $TM$. Accordingly, this geometric structure converts to a holonomy invariant foliated cocycle on the tangent space, which is totally adapted to the Helmholtz conditions.

A Novel Graph-Operational Matrix Method For Solving Multidelay Fractional Differential Equations With Variable Coefficients And A Numerical Comparative Survey Of Fractional Derivative Types, Ömür Kivanç Kürkçü, Ersi̇n Aslan, Mehmet Sezer
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this study, we introduce multidelay fractional differential equations with variable coefficients in a unique formula. A novel graph-operational matrix method based on the fractional Caputo, Riemann-Liouville, Caputo-Fabrizio, and Jumarie derivative types is developed to efficiently solve them. We also make use of the collocation points and matrix relations of the matching polynomial of the complete graph in the method. We determine which of the fractional derivative types is more appropriate for the method. The solutions of model problems are improved via a new residual error analysis technique. We design a general computer program module. Thus, we can explicitly monitor …

A Discrete Chaotic Dynamical System On The Sierpinski Gasket, Mustafa Saltan, Ni̇sa Aslan, Bünyami̇n Demi̇r
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
The Sierpinski gasket (also known as the Sierpinski triangle) is one of the fundamental models of self-similar sets. There have been many studies on different features of this set in the last decades. In this paper, initially we construct a dynamical system on the Sierpinski gasket by using expanding and folding maps. We then obtain a surprising shift map on the code set of the Sierpinski gasket, which represents the dynamical system, and we show that this dynamical system is chaotic on the code set of the Sierpinski gasket with respect to the intrinsic metric. Finally, we provide an algorithm …

Global Dynamics Of Perturbation Of Certain Rational Differenceequation, Sabina Hrustic, Mustafa Kulenovic, Samra Moranjkic, Zehra Nurkanovic
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
We investigate the global asymptotic stability of the difference equation of the form \begin{equation*} x_{n+1}=\frac{A x_{n}^{2}+F}{a x_{n}^{2}+e x_{n-1}}, \quad n=0,1,\ldots, \end{equation*}% with positive parameters and nonnegative initial conditions such that $x_0 + x_{-1}>0$. The map associated to this equation is always decreasing in the second variable and can be either increasing or decreasing in the first variable depending on the parametric space. In some cases, we prove that local asymptotic stability of the unique equilibrium point implies global asymptotic stability.
A Class Of Finite Difference Schemes For Singularly Perturbed Delay Differential Equations Of Second Order, Pramod Chakravarthy Podila, Kamalesh Kumar
A Class Of Finite Difference Schemes For Singularly Perturbed Delay Differential Equations Of Second Order, Pramod Chakravarthy Podila, Kamalesh Kumar
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we proposed a new class of finite difference schemes for solving singularly perturbed delay differential equation of second order. The proposed schemes are oscillation-free and more accurate than conventional schemes on a uniform mesh. These schemes are easily adaptable on special meshes like Shishkin mesh or Bakhvalov mesh and are uniformly convergent with respect to the perturbation parameter. The error analysis has been carried out and numerical examples are presented to show the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed schemes.

On Isotropic Projective Ricci Curvature Of C-Reducible Finsler Metrics, Laya Ghaemnezhad, Bahman Rezaei, Mehran Gabrani
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Projective Ricci curvature is a projective invariant quantity in Finsler geometry which is introduced by Z. Shen. In this paper, we study special projective Ricci curvature of C-reducible Finsler metrics. The necessary and sufficient conditions of these metrics, which cause these metrics to be weak or isotropic projective Ricci curvature, are found and it is proved that C-reducible Douglas metric of isotropic PRic-curvature must be PRic flat. The same theorem for C-reducible metrics of scalar flag curvature is also investigated.

Sherman's Inequality And Its Converse For Strongly Convex Functions Withapplications To Generalizedf-Divergences, Slavica Ivelic Bradanovic
Sherman's Inequality And Its Converse For Strongly Convex Functions Withapplications To Generalizedf-Divergences, Slavica Ivelic Bradanovic
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Considering the weighted concept of majorization, Sherman obtained generalization of majorization inequality for convex functions known as Sherman's inequality. We extend Sherman's result to the class of n-strongly convex functions using extended idea of convexity to the class of strongly convex functions. We also obtain upper bound for Sherman's inequality, called the converse Sherman inequality, and as easy consequences we get Jensen's as well as majorization inequality and their conversions for strongly convex functions. Obtained results are stronger versions for analogous results for convex functions. As applications, we introduced a generalized concept of f-divergence and derived some reverse relations for …
