By aging, male fertility and kidney function decline. Therefore, the investigation of health span-extending agents becomes more urgent to overcome aging-induced infertility and kidney dysfunction. The current research was undertaken to investigate the antiaging efficacy of Astragalus membranaceus telomerase activator-65 (Ta-65) and pomegranate supplements. Forty male Wistar rats were divided into young rats, aged rats, aged rats treated with Ta-65 (500mg/kg/day), and aged rats treated with pomegranate (250mg/kg/day). Testosterone, FSH, LH, and kidney functions were measured in serum. Sperm analysis as well as testicular histological examination was performed. Two field trials (FieldExp1 and FieldExp2) and a pot experiment (PotExp) were c0onducted over a period of 3 years to assess olive tree response to nitrogen (N) applications and to estimate apparent N recovery. FieldExp1 was installed in a 3-year-old olive grove. FieldExp2 consisted of a plantation of young rooted plants. Two treatments were applied in both experiments: N application and a nonfertilized control. In PotExp, 4 N rates were used. Hazelnut is one of the most popular nuts consumed by people; it has different cultivars in Turkey. The aim of the current study was to characterize some physicomechanical characteristics, shape features, color, and biochemical properties of 6 standard and 3 local hazelnut cultivars grown in Turkey. The shape and size properties of the samples were determined using image processing techniques as an alternative to conventional measurement methods. In the present study, the alleviation of Hg stress through exogenous Cys treatment to maize seedlings was evaluated. Turkey is one of the world's leading producers in both in fresh and dried apricots, and Malatya Province is the capital for apricots. In the present study, the fruit of 13 apricot cultivars (Adilcevaz, Alkaya, Aprikoz, Çataloğlu, Hacıhaliloğlu, Hasanbey, İsmailağa, Kabaaşı, Mahmuduneriği, Soğancı, Şam, Şekerpare, and Tokaloğlu-Erzincan), grown together at the Apricot Research Institute in Malatya Province, were harvested and evaluated for some important physicochemical and bioactive characteristics. This study aimed at elucidating the groundwater and surface water pollution resulting from water-rock interaction, mine tailings, and mining activities at Küre (Kastamonu) sulfidic Pb-Zn-Cu mine area and its vicinity. This study intended to focus on the effect of different levels of NaCl (0?400 mM, at regular intervals every 100 mM) on the growth, secondary metabolites, and antioxidant enzyme activities of Polygonum equisetiforme, a wild plant with medicinal and industrial uses, which often grows in harsh environmental conditions. Our results showed that biomass production significantly decreased with salinity, while the leaf relative water content declined only at high levels of NaCl concentration (300?400 mM). The aim of this study was to confirm the presence of BADH gene and control whether it plays an important role to protect white clover (Trifolium repens L.) against oxidative, salt, and drought stresses. Three genotypes possessing BADH and 1 genotype lacking BADH were selected, considering the expression levels of BADH in response to methyl viologen mediated oxidative stress. The genotypes possessing BADH displayed significantly less ion leakage under oxidative stress treatment, compared to that lacking BADH . In the present study, microalgal biomass (Anabeana circinalis and Scenedesmus quadricauda) was used as biofertilizer in cucumber cultivation. The response of cucumber growth characters to microalgal biofertilizer was evaluated. Moreover, rhizosphere microbial diversity and community composition of cucumber was analyzed through 16S rRNA high-throughput Illumina sequencing data. The results showed that microalgal biomass as biofertilizer significantly promoted height, number of leaves and flower buds, and stem diameter of cucumber. The application of a high concentration of S. quadricauda to soil raised the diversity of rhizosphere fungi of cucumber. The presented work demonstrates the preparation of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) via aqueous leaves extract of Ziziphus mauritiana L. (Zm) using hydrazine as a reducing agent. Various parameters such as volume of extract, concentration of hydrazine hydrate, concentration of copper chloride, and pH of the solution were optimized to obtain Ziziphus mauritiana L. leaves extract derived copper nanoparticles (Zm-CuNPs). An investigation was carried out to evaluate the impact of the allelopathic effect of Alstonia scholaris leaf extract on morphoanatomical and physiological characteristics of 5 wheat lines. Three extract dilutions were prepared, viz. 0 (control), 15 and 30% of the aqueous extract and sprayed on wheat lines (3094, 5066, M5082, 7076 and A2011) at 15-day intervals until maturity from November 2017 to May 2018. To evaluate the effect of metformin and detorsion treatment on reducing ovarian reserve in an ovarian torsion model. Background/aim: Body esteem (BE) is defined as the self-evaluation of one's own body or appearance. The Body Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults (BESAA) consists of three subscales: BE-appearance, BE-weight, and BE-attribution. Though initially developed for adolescents and adults, the use of the scale has recently increased in health-related research on children. This study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the BESAA for children. Background/aim: This study is aimed to investigate the effects of vitamin D levels on sugammadex and neostigmine reversal times. Material and methods: Eighty patients between the ages of 18 and 65 years, with ASA I-III status who were undergoing surgery under general anesthesia were included in the study. Although phosphorus supplementation (SP) has been shown to improve salinity tolerance in plants, crosstalk between hydrogen sulfide (H2S) or L-cysteine desulfhydrase (LDES) and SP-induced salinity tolerance needs to be elucidated. Thus, prior to initiation of stress treatment, young seedlings were transferred to aqueous solution containing the scavenger of H2S, 0.1 mM hypotaurine (HT), or the inhibitor of LDES, 0.3 mM DL-propargylglycine (PAG), for 12 h. To limit the elevated production of reactive oxygen species, plants stimulate various types of antioxidants.
