Time-Oriented Interactive Process Miner: A New Approach For Time Prediction, İsmai̇l Yürek, Derya Bi̇rant, Özlem Ece Yürek, Kökten Ulaş Bi̇rant
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Everyday information systems collect a different kind of process instances of a business flow. As time goes on, the size of the collected data builds up speedily and constitutes a huge amount of data. It is a very challenging task to obtain valuable information and features of processes from such big data. Considering in advance, the trend and different features of the ongoing process are essential. Especially, time management is crucial in designing and conducting business processes. In this article, a novel process miner algorithm is proposed for time prediction, named time-oriented İnteractive process miner (T-IPM), which predicts the remaining …

Abnormal Behavior Detection Using Sparse Representations Through Sequentialgeneralization Of K-Means, Ahlam Aldhamari, Rubita Sudirman, Nasrul Humaimi Mahmood
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
The potential capability to automatically detect and classify human behavior as either normal or abnormal events is an important aspect in intelligent monitoring/surveillance systems. This study presents a new high-performance framework for detecting behavioral abnormalities in video streams by utilizing only the patterns for normal behaviors. In this paper, we used a hybrid descriptor, called a foreground optical flow energy (FGOFE), which makes use of two effective motion techniques in order to extract the most descriptive spatiotemporal features in video sequences. The FGOFE descriptor can effectively capture both weak and sudden incidents in a scene. The sequential generalization of k-means …

A Novel Optimum Pi Controller Design Based On Stability Boundary Locussupported Particle Swarm Optimization In Avr System, Mahmut Temel Özdemi̇r
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This study proposes a new approach that combines stability and optimization in the design of proportional? integral (PI) controller of automatic voltage regulators (AVR) of synchronous generators with variable system parameters. Thanks to this approach, a PI controller, providing the desired performance and the stability of the AVR system, has been designed. The approach follows a method investigating the PI gain values to achieve the desired goals. In the first step of the study, a new stability boundary locus is calculated for the case in which AVR system?s parameters have changed. The stability boundary locus (SBL) method is a graphic-based …

A Novel Data Placement Strategy To Reduce Data Traffic During Run-Time, Sridevi Sridhar, Rhymend Uthariaraj Vaidyanathan
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
High impact scientific applications processed in distributed data centers often involve big data. To avoid the intolerable delays due to huge data movements across data centers during processing, the concept of moving tasks to data was introduced in the last decade. Even after the realization of this concept termed as data locality, the expected quality of service was not achieved. Later, data colocality was introduced where data groupings were identified and then data chunks were placed wisely. However, the aspect of the expected data traffic during run time is generally not considered while placing data. To identify the expected data …
Performance Improvement Of The Shunt Active Power Filter Using A Novel Adaptivefiltering Approach, Abderrezzaq Zoghbi, Daoud Berkani
Performance Improvement Of The Shunt Active Power Filter Using A Novel Adaptivefiltering Approach, Abderrezzaq Zoghbi, Daoud Berkani
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This paper introduces an efficient control approach to enhance harmonics mitigation performance of the shunt active power filter (SAPF). This approach is based on adaptive filters favored by their built-in automatic parameters adaptation capability. The proposed filter, which uses a variable leaky least mean square (VLLMS) adaptation, is applied with a modified instantaneous power PQ theory. This enhances its dynamic performance over the use of conventional time-invariant filters, and overcomes its limitations in the presence of nonsinusoidal voltage conditions. The studied SAPF model is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK with combinations of nonlinear and unbalanced loads. Simulation results indicate a significant improvement …
A Two-Stage Hair Region Localization Method For Guided Laser Hair Removal, Murat Avşar, İmam Şami̇l Yeti̇k
A Two-Stage Hair Region Localization Method For Guided Laser Hair Removal, Murat Avşar, İmam Şami̇l Yeti̇k
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Removal of hair using laser is a widely used method, where our goal is to permanently remove hair by using laser to cause heat in order to thermally damage the hair follicle. However, currently available laser hair removal systems affect the outer skin layers besides hair follicles. This is a disadvantage of classical methods with major health risks. We propose a method to overcome these health risks by guiding the laser beam only to automatically localized hair regions. This study aims to develop an automated feature-based hair region localization method as an integral part of the proposed hair removal system …
An Extension Of Maximum Principle With Some Applications, Ali Parsian
An Extension Of Maximum Principle With Some Applications, Ali Parsian
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let $U\subseteq R^{n}$ (res. $D\subset R^{n}$) be an open (res. a compact) subset, and let $L$ be an elliptic operator defined on $C^{2}(U, R)$ (res. $C^{2}(D, R)$). In the present paper, we are going to extend the maximum principle for the function $f \in C^{2}(U, R)$ (res. $f \in C^{2}(D, R)$) satisfying the equation $Lf=\varepsilon$, where $\varepsilon$ is a real everywhere nonzero continuous function on $U$ (res. $D$). Finally, we obtain some applications in mathematics and physics.
Modularly Equidistant Numerical Semigroups, José Carlos Rosales, Manuel Baptista Branco, Márcio Andre Traesel
Modularly Equidistant Numerical Semigroups, José Carlos Rosales, Manuel Baptista Branco, Márcio Andre Traesel
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
IfS is a numerical semigroup and s ∈ S , we denote by next$_{S}$(s) = min {x ∈ S s < x}. Leta be an integer greater than or equal to two. A numerical semigroup is equidistant modulo a if next$_{S}$((s) - s - 1 is a multiple of a for every s ∈ S . In this note, we give algorithms for computing the whole set of equidistant numerical semigroups modulo a with fixed multiplicity, genus, and Frobenius number. Moreover, we will study this kind of semigroups with maximal embedding dimension.
Good Components Of Curves In Projective Spaces Outside The Brill-Noether Range, Edoardo Ballico
Good Components Of Curves In Projective Spaces Outside The Brill-Noether Range, Edoardo Ballico
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
For all integers $n, d, g$ such that $n\ge 4$, $d\ge n+1$, and $(n+2)(d-n-1)\ge n(g-1)$, we define a good (i.e. generically smooth of dimension $(n+1)d+(3-n)(g-1)$ and with the expected number of moduli) irreducible component $A(d,g;n)$ of the Hilbert scheme of smooth and nondegenerate curves in $\mathbb{P}^n$ with degree $d$ and genus $g$. For most of these $(d,g)$, we prove that a general $X\in A(d,g;n)$ has maximal rank. We cover, in this way, a range of $(d,g,n)$ outside the Brill-Noether range.

Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this study, nearness near-ring, subnearness near-ring, nearness M-group and nearness ideal are introduced. By considering operations on the set of all near left weak cosets, nearness near-ring of all near left weak cosets and nearness near-ring homomorphism are also presented. Moreover, some properties of these structures are investigated.

Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we characterize various local forms of T$_{4}$ constant filter convergence spaces and investigate the relationships among them as well as showing that the full subcategories of the category of constant filter convergence spaces consisting of local T$_{4}$ constant filter convergence spaces that are hereditary. Furthermore, we examine the relationship between local T$_{4}$ and general T$_{4}$ constant filter convergence spaces. Finally, we present Urysohn's lemma and Tietze extension theorem for constant filter convergence spaces.

Oscillation Tests For Nonlinear Differential Equations With Nonmonotone Delays, Nurten Kiliç
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, our aim is to investigate a class of first-order nonlinear delay differential equations with several deviating arguments. In addition, we present some sufficient conditions for the oscillatory solutions of these equations. Differing from other studies in the literature, delay terms are not necessarily monotone. Finally, we give examples to demonstrate the results.

Some Soft Topological Properties And Fixed Soft Element Results In Soft Complex Valued Metric Spaces, İzzetti̇n Demi̇r
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, first, by using the idea of soft complex numbers as in Das and Samanta [8], we introduce the notion of soft complex valued metric spaces and investigate some of their topological aspects. Next, we establish some fixed soft element theorems for various soft mappings on soft complex valued metric spaces, which are the main results of our paper.
Unitals In Projective Planes Of Order 16, Stoicho Dimitrov Stoichev, Mustafa Gezek
Unitals In Projective Planes Of Order 16, Stoicho Dimitrov Stoichev, Mustafa Gezek
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this study, we perform computer searches for unitals in planes of order 16. The number of known nonisomorphic unitals in these planes is improved to be 261. Some data related to 2-$(65,5,1)$ designs associated with unitals are given. New lower bounds on the number of unital designs in projective planes of order 16 and 2-$(65,5,1)$ designs are established. The computations show that thirty-nine unitals can be embedded in two or more nonisomorphic projective planes of order 16. Fifteen new connections between planes of order 16 (based on unitals) are found. All unitals found by the algorithms used in this …

Hardy-Copson Type Inequalities For Nabla Time Scale Calculus, Zeynep Kayar, Bi̇llur Kaymakçalan
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
This paper is devoted to the nabla unification of the discrete and continuous Hardy-Copson type inequalities. Some of the obtained inequalities are nabla counterparts of their delta versions while the others are new even for the discrete, continuous, and delta cases. Moreover, these dynamic inequalities not only generalize and unify the related ones in the literature but also improve them in the special cases.
Classification Of Genus-$1$ Holomorphic Lefschetz Pencils, Noriyuki Hamada, Kenta Hayano
Classification Of Genus-$1$ Holomorphic Lefschetz Pencils, Noriyuki Hamada, Kenta Hayano
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we classify relatively minimal genus-$1$ holomorphic Lefschetz pencils up to smooth isomorphism. We first show that such a pencil is isomorphic to either the pencil on $P^1\times P^1$ of bidegree $(2,2)$ or a blow-up of the pencil on $P^2$ of degree $3$, provided that no fiber of a pencil contains an embedded sphere (note that one can easily classify genus-$1$ Lefschetz pencils with an embedded sphere in a fiber). We further determine the monodromy factorizations of these pencils and show that the isomorphism class of a blow-up of the pencil on $P^2$ of degree $3$ does not …

On Ordered $\Gamma$-Hypersemigroups And Their Relation To Lattice Ordered Semigroups, Niovi Kehayopulu
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
The concept of $\Gamma$-hypersemigroup has been introduced in Turk J Math 2020; 44 (5): 1835-1851 in which it has in which it has been shown that various results on $\Gamma$-hypersemigroups can be obtained directly as corollaries of more general results from the theory of $le$-semigroups (i.e. lattice ordered semigroups having a greatest element) or $poe$-semigroups. As a continuation of the paper mentioned above, in the present paper, the concept of ordered $\Gamma$-hypersemigroups has been introduced, and their relation to lattice ordered semigroups is given. It has been shown that although the results on ordered $\Gamma$-hypersemigroups cannot be obtained as corollaries …

On Self-Orthogonality And Self-Duality Of Matrix-Product Codes Over Commutative Rings, Abdulaziz Deajim, Mohamed Bouye
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Self-orthogonal codes and self-dual codes, on the one hand, and matrix-product codes, on the other, form important and sought-after classes of linear codes. Combining the two constructions would be advantageous. Adding to this combination the relaxation of the underlying algebraic structures to be commutative rings instead of fields would be even more advantageous. The current article paves a path in this direction. The authors study the problem of self-orthogonality and self-duality of matrix-product codes over a commutative ring with identity. Some methods as well as special matrices are introduced for the construction of such codes. A characterization of such codes …

Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper,we define a class of analytic functions $F_{\left( \beta ,\lambda \right) }\left( H,\alpha ,\delta ,\mu \right) ,$ satisfying the following subordinate condition associated with Chebyshev polynomials \begin{equation*} \left\{ \alpha \left[ \frac{zG^{^{\prime }}\left( z\right) }{G\left( z\right) }\right] ^{\delta }+\left( 1-\alpha \right) \left[ \frac{% zG^{^{\prime }}\left( z\right) }{G\left( z\right) }\right] ^{\mu }\left[ 1+% \frac{zG^{^{\prime \prime }}\left( z\right) }{G^{^{\prime }}\left( z\right) }% \right] ^{1-\mu }\right\} \prec H\left( z,t\right) , \end{equation*}% where $G\left( z\right) =\lambda \beta z^{2}f^{^{\prime \prime }}\left( z\right) +\left( \lambda -\beta \right) zf^{^{\prime }}\left( z\right) +\left( 1-\lambda +\beta \right) f\left( z\right) ,$ $0\leq \alpha \leq 1,$ $% 1\leq \delta \leq …

Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, the existence and uniqueness of the solutions to impulsive coupled system of fractional differential equations with Caputo--Hadamard are investigated. Furthermore, Ulam's type stability of the proposed coupled system is studied. The approach is based on a Perov type fixed point theorem for contractions.

The Extension Of Step-$N$ Signatures, Kistosil Fahim
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In 2009, Gyurko introduced $\Pi$-rough path which extends $p$-rough path. Inspired by this work we introduce the degree-$(\Pi,N)$ signature which can be treated as the step-$N$ signature for some $\Pi$. The degree-$(\Pi,N)$ signature holds some algebraic properties which will be proven in this paper.
Theory And Numerical Approaches Of High Order Fractional Sturm-Liouville Problems, Tahereh Houlari, Mohammad Dehghan, Jafar Biazar, Alireza Nouri
Theory And Numerical Approaches Of High Order Fractional Sturm-Liouville Problems, Tahereh Houlari, Mohammad Dehghan, Jafar Biazar, Alireza Nouri
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, fractional Sturm--Liouville problems of high-order are studied. A simple and efficient approach is presented to determine more eigenvalues and eigenfunctions than other approaches. Existence and uniqueness of solutions of a fractional high-order differential equation with initial conditions is addressed as well as the convergence of the proposed approach. This class of eigenvalue problems is important in finding solutions to linear fractional partial differential equations (LFPDE). This method is illustrated by three examples to signify the efficiency and reliability of the proposed numerical approach.

Mixed Lagrange Function In Minimax Fractional Programming Problems, Shunchin Ho
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, the aim of this work to study mixed Lagrange function for the minimax fractional programming problem with nonsmooth exponential $(p,r)$-invex functions with respect to $\eta$. We introduced a new concept of saddle point for a mixed Lagrange function. We present the equivalence between a saddle point of the mixed Lagrange function and an optimal solution in the considered minimax fractional programming problem under appropriate nonsmooth exponential $(p,r)$-invexity hypotheses.
Relationship Between Lattice Ordered Semigroups And Ordered Hypersemigroups, Niovi Kehayopulu
Relationship Between Lattice Ordered Semigroups And Ordered Hypersemigroups, Niovi Kehayopulu
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
It has been shown in Turk J Math 2019; 43 (5): 2592-2601 that many results on hypersemigroups can be obtained directly as corollaries of more general results from the theory of lattice ordered semigroups, $\vee e$-semigroups or $poe$-semigroups. The present note shows that although this is not exactly the case for ordered hypersemigroups, even in this case various results may be suggested from analogous results for $le$, $\vee e$ or $poe$-semigroups and direct proofs derive along the lines of those $le$, $\vee e$ or $poe$-semigroups setting as well; the sets in the investigation provides a further indication that the results …
New Results On Derivatives Of The Shape Operator Of A Real Hypersurface In A Complex Projective Space, Juan De Dios Perez, David Pérez-López
New Results On Derivatives Of The Shape Operator Of A Real Hypersurface In A Complex Projective Space, Juan De Dios Perez, David Pérez-López
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
We consider real hypersurfaces $M$ in complex projective space equipped with both the Levi-Civita and generalized Tanaka-Webster connections. For any nonnull real number $k$ and any symmetric tensor field of type (1,1) $L$ on $M$ we can define a tensor field of type (1,2) on $M$, $L^{(k)}_F$, related to both connections. We study symmetry and skewsymmetry of the tensor $A^{(k)}_F$ associated to the shape operator$A$ of $M$.

Weak C-Ideals Of A Lie Algebra, Zeki̇ye Çi̇loğlu Şahi̇n, David Anthony Towers
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
A subalgebra $B$ of a Lie algebra $L$ is called a weak c-ideal of $L$ if there is a subideal $C$ of $L$ such that $L=B+C$ and $B\cap C\leq B_{L} $ where $B_{L}$ is the largest ideal of $L$ contained in $B.$ This is analogous to the concept of weakly c-normal subgroups, which has been studied by a number of authors. We obtain some properties of weak c-ideals and use them to give some characterisations of solvable and supersolvable Lie algebras. We also note that one-dimensional weak c-ideals are c-ideals.
