Phytoplankton Biomass And Species Composition Of Lake Gölbaşı (Hatay-Turkey), Mehmet Naz, Mustafa Türkmen
Phytoplankton Biomass And Species Composition Of Lake Gölbaşı (Hatay-Turkey), Mehmet Naz, Mustafa Türkmen
Turkish Journal of Biology
Seasonal distributions of phytoplanktonic organisms in Lake Gölbaşı were investigated in samples collected from 2 stations between May, 2001, and April, 2002. At each station, monthly sampling was performed from the surface water. The flora consisted of 41 taxa belonging to Bacillariophyta (24), Chlorophyta (12), Pyrrophyta (2), Cyanophyta (2) and Chrysophyta (1). During the 1-year study period, the most dominant group was Chrysophyta followed by Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Cyanophyta and Pyrrophyta. The highest numbers of Chrysophyta were observed in both stations in May, 2001, January, 2002 and April, 2002. Bacillariophyta had the highest biomass in both stations, followed by Chrysophyta, Pyrrophyta, …

Morphological, Anatomical And Ecological Studies On Tulipa Armena Boiss. Var. Lycica (Baker) Marais (Liliaceae), Ati̇la Ocak, Sevi̇m Alan, Ebru Ataşlar
Turkish Journal of Botany
This study presents investigations into the morphological, anatomical and ecological features of Tulipa armena Boiss. var. lycica (Baker) Marais. T. armena var. lycica, an endemic species which was collected from the Eskişehir, Alpu-Bozan plantation area and from Kunduzlar Dam and its environs. The species is a new record for Eskişehir. For morphological studies a description and illustrations of T. armena var. lycica are given. The morphological differences were compared with the Flora of Turkey. For anatomical studies, cross-sections of the root, stem and leaves and surface sections of the leaves of T. armena var. lycica are investigated for the first …
Effects Of High Dietary Protein And High Energy Density On Gastric Evacuation And Return Of Appetite In The Rainbow Trout, Oncorhynchus Mykiss, Ahmet Adem Teki̇nay, Yusuf Güner
Effects Of High Dietary Protein And High Energy Density On Gastric Evacuation And Return Of Appetite In The Rainbow Trout, Oncorhynchus Mykiss, Ahmet Adem Teki̇nay, Yusuf Güner
Turkish Journal of Biology
Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were fed diets containing three different concentrations of crude protein (56.3%, 51.7% and 45.8%) and digestible energy (21.3, 20.3 and 18.8 MJ/kg), and the effects of dietary protein and energy level on gastric evacuation and return of appetite times were investigated. Gastric evacuation determinations were achieved by slaughtering 8 fish every 6 hours until no residue was found in the cardiac stomach of fish. Return of appetite experiments were conducted by re-feeding groups of trout every 4 or 6 hours following the first feeding. The data obtained from each process was modelled by regression analysis and …
Biological And Ecological Investigations On Local Population (Eğirdir-Türkiye) Of The Ancylus Fluviatilis Müller 1774, M. Zeki̇ Yildirim, Ö. Osman Ertan, Arzu Morkoyunlu
Biological And Ecological Investigations On Local Population (Eğirdir-Türkiye) Of The Ancylus Fluviatilis Müller 1774, M. Zeki̇ Yildirim, Ö. Osman Ertan, Arzu Morkoyunlu
Turkish Journal of Zoology
In this study some ecological studies were carried out on the local populations of Ancylus fluviatilis Müller 1774, from March 1995 to March 1996. Temperature of water, pH, conductivity, oxygen values, structure of ground, faunal and floral features of each localities' were investigated monthly, and as well as the effects of these ecological factors on the distribution of this species, the population density, structure and growth. Also same ecological surveys were realised on the 3 freshwater stations where this species is absent and compared with the other localities.
Morphological, Anatomical And Ecological Studies On The Two Turkish Endemic Species Collected From Kaz Dağı (B1 Balıkesir) "Allium Sibthorpianum Schultes & Schultes Fil. And Allium Reuterianum Boiss.", İsmet Uysal
Turkish Journal of Botany
This investigation englightens the morphological, anatomical and ecological characteristics of Kazdağı endemics namely Allium reuterianum Boiss. and Allium sibthorpianum Schultes & Schultes fil. (Liliaceae). A. sibthorpianum occurs in Bursa, Kütahya, Denizli, Isparta and Çanakkale (newly recorded), whereas A. reuterianum is found in Southwest Anatolia, Islands, Manisa, Denizli, Muğla, Isparta and Çanakkale (newly recorded). Root anatomy of A. sibthorpianum and A. reuterianum typically show exodermis and an empty pith. In addition in the scapes of both the species layering in the area between epidermis and cuticle results in its thickening. The leaves in both species are not hairy. Reticulate shaped open …
Root-Length Densities Of Lentil And Wheat And Measuring Infiltration In The Soil In Differentsoil Tillage, Lentil-Wheat Versa Fallow-Wheat Rotation Systems Undercentral Anatolian Conditions, Didar Eser, M. Sait Adak, Andreas Biesantz
Root-Length Densities Of Lentil And Wheat And Measuring Infiltration In The Soil In Differentsoil Tillage, Lentil-Wheat Versa Fallow-Wheat Rotation Systems Undercentral Anatolian Conditions, Didar Eser, M. Sait Adak, Andreas Biesantz
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
The research was carried out for four years in the two locations Haymana-Ankara and Gözlü-Konya under different climate characteristics of the Central Anatolian Region. The aim of the reseach was to improve soil fertility in dry farming areas and to increase the benefit from fallow areas. Different soil tillage treatments and lentil-wheat versa fallow- wheat rotations systems resp. were examined in these experiments. According to experimental results highest root-length densities (RLD s ) of winter sown lentils were obtained in soil layers of 0-20 and 20-40 cm in comparison to deeper soil layers of 20 cm each down to 1 …

An Autecological Study On Iris Pseudacorus L. (Iridaceae), Ali Engi̇n, Nezahat Kandemi̇r, Gülcan Şenel, Mustafa Özkan
Turkish Journal of Botany
The ecological properties of Iris pseudacorus L., a marsh plant species, were investigated. The analysis of N%, P% and K% in the below-ground and above-ground parts of the plant was carried out. In addition, soil samples were collected and their physical and chemical aspects were analyzed.
