This work presents information about 19 taxa recorded from different habitats at depths between 0.2 and 508 m in the last two decades, which are new records or poorly known species along the Turkish coasts. Among the identified species, Epitonium vaillanti, Melanella cf. lubrica, Melanella monterosatoi, Pelseneeria minor, Setia amabilis, Kurtziella serga, Rissoella diaphana, Rissoella inflata, and Spirolaxis clenchi are new records for the Turkish mollusc fauna, Eatonina pumila is new report for the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea, and Eatonina ochroleuca, Acirsa subdecussata, Lamellaria latens, Setia pulcherrima, Setia valvatoides, and Turbonilla cangeyrani are species with rare distribution …

Seeds, by-products derived from various plants such as mango, quince, and apples, are considered waste, though they have emerging commercial potential, and have been used in biological, industrial, and physiological research. Seed-derived natural macromolecules- mainly polysaccharides, mucilage, gums, and cellulose-have physicochemical and structural diversification, giving the potential for forming gels, texturing, thickening, and providing interfacial adsorption. Background: Compelling evidence has manifested a strong association between aberrant expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and gastric carcinoma (GC) development. Nonetheless, biological impacts of differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) on GC are not scrutinized. Methods: Bioinformatics methods were employed for differential expression analysis and target gene prediction. MTT, colony formation, and Transwell methods were implemented for GC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion assessment. Western blot was implemented to test the protein level. The aim of this study was to investigate the polymorphism of the κ - casein gene (kappa casein, CSN3) in buffaloes and determine its effects on milk yield traits. Data were obtained from 2016 to 2019 from all animals in the ongoing Anatolian Buffalo Breeding Project. Genomic DNA was collected from a total of 209 buffaloes of different ages and sexes, namely 31 Murrah, 46 Anatolian buffaloes, and 132 of their crosses (Murrah × Anatolian). This study investigated the comparative changes in hematological and certain biochemical parameters such as glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride calcium, phosphorus and total protein during the transition period in Angora and Akkeçi goats aged 2-4 years. Chitosan plays a crucial role in catalysis, environmental remediation, and sustainable chemistry as a renewable and cationic polysaccharide. Chitosan-based metal catalysts are used in a broad range of chemical transformations. In the study, carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were derived from Momordica charantia fruits by microwave irradiation following a green chemistry approach. Three catalysts were designed: Ag(0)-chitosan, Ag(0)-chitosan-M. charantia fruit powder, and Ag(0)-chitosan-CQDs. Graphene oxide, which has a great application in industry, is one of the promising carbonous materials. Modified Hummers method was applied to synthesize graphene oxide. Characterization techniques showed that pure graphene oxide was successfully obtained. Its adsorptive properties were investigated by boron adsorption. The results were demonstrated that boron adsorption on graphene oxide was a pH-dependent process and maximum adsorption was achieved at pH 6 (0.98 mg g?1). Langmuir adsorption capacity was calculated as 3.92 mg g?1 with R2 = 0.99. Clinical observations show that the current spinal fusion with internal fixation has a nonfusion rate of 5%-35%; however, methods to promote spinal fusion are limited. This study aimed to investigate the role of SDF-1-induced directional chemotaxis of BMSCs in bone marrow chimera spinal intervertebral fusion mouse model. From Astragalus membranaceus (Fisch.) Bge.var. mongholicus (Bge.) Hsiao, astragaloside IV (AS-IV), a saponin can be purified and is considered traditional Chinese medicine. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the AS-IV-mediated mechanism on chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN). A cationic bovine serum albumin-induced CGN rat model was established and 10, 15, or 20 mg/kg of AS-IV was administered to measure renal function and inflammatory infiltration. Influences of AS-IV on proliferation, cell cycle, and inflammation of LPS-induced rat mesangial cells (RMCs) were determined. Shell-sheddable nanoparticles, composed of amphiphilic blockpolymers, have emerged as an attractive vehicle for the site-specific delivery of therapeutic agents. In this study, pH-responsive sheddable copolymers bearing an orthoester linker were synthesized via the ring-opening polymerization between γ-benzyl-L-glutamate N-carboxyanhydride and orthoester-bearing poly (ethylene glycol) macroinitiator (PEG-pH-NH2). The obtained poly (ethylene glycol)-b-poly(γ-benzyl-L-glutamate) (PEG-PBLG) could form stable nanoparticles in aqueous solutions due to the amphiphilic nature of the block copolymers. The PEG-PBLG-based nanoparticle exhibited good stability in physiological conditions (pH 7.4), whereas the nanoparticle was disassembled under acidic conditions (pH 5.0). Oxyclozanide is a salicylanilide derivative anthelmintic drug with a well-known effect on parasites that cause infections in humans and animals. In this study, the effect of oxyclozanide on DNA damage in hemocytes of Galleria mellonella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) larvae, which has been used as a model organism in many fields, was investigated. Hemolymph was collected from the last instar larvae (7th instar) reared on artificial diets containing oxyclozanide at different concentrations (0.003%, 0.03%, 0.3%, and 1.5%) under laboratory conditions and then hemocytes suspension was prepared. Nest site selection differs among species based on a characteristic crucial to the embryo's survival. The identified nest-site characteristics of the Euphrates softshell turtle highlight that these turtles, like their other soft-shelled relatives, highly prefer the sandy substrate, even pure sand, to nest. However, alteration and loss of natural habitats for many decades limited the suitable oviposition sites along the Euphrates River. This study presents the uncharacteristic nest-site choice and the nesting time of Euphrates softshell turtle for the first time. The marine macroalgae species are recognized as the food of the future with excellent bioactive properties. This study aimed to investigate phenolic compounds; cytotoxic, antibacterial, and antioxidant activities; total phenolic (TPC) and flavonoid (TFC) contents of the methanol, ethanol, and water extracts of Padina pavonica (PP) and Zanardinia typus (ZT). Aphids cause substantial damage to the wheat crop. In order to determine how host plant resistance and insecticides manage the Rhopalosiphum padi L. Current experiments were carried out to find the influence of host plant resistance and bio-rational insecticides against aphids in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) crop. Field experiments were carried out for two growing years (2017/18 and 2018/19) to access the resistance of wheat against the aphids. The field resistance of wheat is highly expressed in Pirsabak-08 variety (infestation range = 1-2.5) while the most susceptible variety is Faisalabad-08 (infestation range > 10). Blood cockle (Anadara kagoshimensis) is an Indo-Pacific species that later entered the Black Sea. The abundance of A. kagoshimensis, which is not subjected to commercial fishing, is important in terms of food competition with other bivalvia species. Baby clam (Chamelea gallina) together with the A. kagoshimensis are dominant bivalve species found in the sandy and muddy areas off the coastal waters of the Black Sea. The Danube Delta is an atypical and complex ecosystem on the border of the slowly shrinking breeding distribution of Falco vespertinus. In this paper, we study the population that breeds in this area and intend to understand its relationship with the environment in these circumstances. We registered 231 breeding pairs (bp), with a local density of 0.034 bp/km$^{2}$. We made a Nearest Neighbour Analysis which confirmed the natural condition of the facultative colonial nesting character of this species. Cryptocephalus surdus Rapilly, 1980 is a little-known species which was described based on specimens collected from Iran. Due to the fact that the species was described very briefly in its original description, the taxonomic features of the species are redescribed in here. In addition, information about additional taxonomic characters, habitats and distribution in Türkiye of this little-known species are given for the first time in this study. Habitus and genital features of the species are photographed. Habitat preference and a map showing the previous and new distribution localities of the species are provided.
