Natural Progression Of Meningeal Lymphatic Dysfunction In App/Ps1 Mice Creates A Critical Window For Alzheimer’S Disease Intervention, Zilong Shen, Xibin Zhou, Chunxiang Zhou
Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences
Background/aim: Meningeal lymphatic vessels (mLVs) facilitate the clearance of toxic metabolites like amyloid-beta (Aβ) from the central nervous system. Dysfunction in MLVs is implicated in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, current knowledge relies on exogenous intervention models that fail to capture spontaneous mLV decline during AD progression. In this study, we investigated the age-dependent correlation between mLV/deep cervical lymph node (dCLN) dysfunction and Aβ pathology in APP/PS1 mice under noninterventional conditions.
Materials and methods: APP/PS1 and wild-type (WT) mice at 3, 6, and 9 months of age were evaluated. Cognitive function was tested using the Morris water maze. mLV/dCLN drainage was …

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This study proposes a novel power management strategy for wind farms using a grey wolf optimization (GWO)-based PI controller. The method aims to enhance active and reactive power control in systems employing dou bly fed induction generators. Three control strategies are evaluated—namely, a classical frequency-domain PI controller, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-based controller, and the proposed GWO-based PI controller—the last of which represents the main contribution. The classical PI and ANN controllers are included strictly for comparative bench marking. MATLAB simulations demonstrate that the GWO-beased PI controller offers superior dynamic performance, particularly in settling time and overshoot reduction. A power …

Turkish Journal of Zoology
The Mediterranean blue mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) is a well-known invasive species recognized for its remarkable ability to tolerate a wide range of environmental conditions. Here, we investigated DNA methylation changes in M. galloprovincialis exposed to a rapid water salinity decrease. Methylation profiles in M. galloprovincialis were recorded before salinity stress was applied (at 35‰), and then at 3, 9 and 24 h following the stress (at 25‰). We monitored these changes using the methylation-sensitive amplification polymorphism (MSAP) method. Methylation levels continued to vary over the 24 h period following stress exposure, indicating that the underlying physiological processes may have changed …
