This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a story-based counseling program in developing spiritual intelligence skills among first-grade students in the Sultanate of Oman. The researchers adopted a quasi-experimental approach and applied tools including a spiritual intelligence scale and a specially designed counseling program to achieve the study’s objectives. Abstract:The purpose of this descriptive study was to evaluate the quality of the learning disabilities program (LDP) in the basic education schools as perceived by teachers of LDP in the Sultanate of Oman. A convenience sample of 277 teachers was selected from Omani governorates. A scale of 83 indicators was developed and distributed to teachers. These indicators included six standards related to program philosophy, educational environment, program staff, individualized education program, transitional services, and family involvement. Abstract: This study aimed to understand the interlinks between religious orientations (extrinsic, intrinsic, quest, and fundamentalist), intergroup contact and sectarian prejudice, verifying whether religious orientations mediate the contact-prejudice links. A sample of 2,498 Omani citizens (Mage=31 years, SDage=9.9) who belong to either Ibada, Sunnah, or Shi'a sects responded to a questionnaire measuring the study variables. The results indicated that fundamentalist, extrinsic, and intrinsic religiosity were positively correlated with sectarian prejudice. Furthermore, quest religiosity and contact were negatively correlated with sectarian prejudice, and we found that quest and fundamentalist orientations mediate the association between contact and sectarian prejudice. Although a number of researchers have focused on describing the unique linguistic features of various Omani dialects, relatively little attention has been paid to their cross-generational familiarity and use. The current study investigated this issue by exploring the abilities of 95 young (20 years or younger) Al-Hamra residents to provide the meanings and correct usage of 20 words identified as being characteristic of the traditional Al-Hamra dialect. Objectives: Stroke is recognised as the third most common cause of mortality and it has an increasing incidence in developing countries. Recognition and control of risk factors are of prime importance in the prevention of stroke. This study aimed to examine the characteristics of ischaemic stroke (IS) patients in Oman and quantify its various risk factors using a case-control model. Methods: This case-control study was conducted from January 2012 to March 2013 at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and Royal Hospital, Muscat. هدفت الدراسة لكشف القدرة التنبؤية للمعتقدات حول المرض النفسيّ والدعم الاجتماعي بالوصمة، ومعرفة المعتقدات حول المرض النفسيّ ومستوى الدعم الاجتماعي ومستوى الوصمة، لدى (404) من المرضى في العيادات النفسيّة في الأردن تم إختيارهم بالطريقة المتيسرة؛ ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم تطوير مقياس للمعتقدات حول المرض النفسي، ومقياس للدعم الاجتماعي، ومقياس للوصمة. أشارت النتائج إلى ارتفاع الاعتقاد بأن ضغوطات الحياة هي سبب المرض، بينما دلت المتوسطات على انخفاض المعتقد بأن المرض النفسيّ سبب في عدم زواج أفراد أسرتهم، وجاء مستوى الدعم الاجتماعي مرتفعاً، ومستوى الوصمة متوسطاً، وتنبأت أسباب المرض النفسيّ والتأثير على الأسرة، والدعم المقدم من الأصدقاء والأطباء بالوصمة، بينما لم يسهم …

The study aimed at investigating Arabic teachers rating degree of the importance of pre-reading questions (as an instructional scaffolder) on enhancing reading comprehension and their practices for it, and whether there were statistical significant differences due to their qualification and teaching experience.
