Drainage Controls In The Austin Chalk Cuesta Area Of Dallas, Texas, E. F. Blakemore Jr.
Field and Laboratory
The Austin chalk cuesta is a prominent topographic feature which trends northeast across central Texas from Austin through Waco and Dallas. The escarpment is formed through differential erosion of beds at the contact between the Austin chalk and Eagle Ford: shale, the overlying chalk forming the cuesta. The area described in this paper is situated 6 miles west of Dallas, south of the Trinity River Cross Valley.

An Annotated List Of Snails From Texas And Northern Mexico Collected By C. D. Orchard, E. P. Cheatum
Field and Laboratory
A collection of land and fresh-water shells, principally from central, southern and southwestern Texas counties, with a few lots from Mexico, has been sent to me by Mr. C. D. Orchard, of San Antonio. Each lot was accompanied by ecological data; and since there were many intergrading forms, the following annotated list may be interesting and useful to field zoologists and systematists.

Between the years 1926 and 1937, the writer made a general study of the Lepidoptera of Arkansas, paying special attention to the Sphingidae. During the period thirty-two species in twenty-one genera were collected, and their relations studied.

Meteor Crater of Arizona, three-quarters of a mile across and six hundred feet deep, with its walls of tilted and faulted strata and its encircling high rim of pulverized and brecciated rock, is a spectacle for the student of land forms, of geologic structures, and of katamorphic processes. Standing on its rim, one is impressed by the fact that craterÂforming meteorites are extraterrestrial agents that are truly catastrophic in their geological effects. However, the relative importance of giant meteorites among the agents that shape the landscape and deform or break rocks depends upon the distribution of meteorite scars in space …
