Background: Menstrual hygiene management is a global public health concern. Moreover, cultural norms, stigma, and myths or taboos further hinder the achievement of menstrual health, contributing to absenteeism and gender-based inequalities (Babbar et al., 2022). A recent report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (2024) found that 2 out of 5 schools provide menstrual health education, and less than 1 in 3 schools have bins for menstrual waste in girls’ toilets. Introduction: Effective interprofessional teamwork is essential for collaborative, patient-centered care, yet health science students often lack structured opportunities for shared learning. Incorporating intentional and continuous interprofessional education (IPE) throughout the curriculum is critical for building the communication and collaboration skills needed for team-based clinical practice.

Background: Although the value of IPE is well established, health science students are rarely trained together before entering practice. Background: Hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) are considered preventable yet remain prevalent in intensive care units (ICUs), where critically ill patients face increased risk due to immobility, hemodynamic instability, and complex care needs. Psychological safety is central to patient-centered care and effective nurse-patient relationships. When relational safety is present, patients report better experiences, outcomes, and trust, and nurses benefit from strengthened confidence and teamwork. However, the relational processes through which psychological safety is co-created in acute care remain insufficiently described.

This study examined the emotional, cognitive, and social processes that shape psychological safety within nurse-patient relationships and explored how relational safety emerges and influences care experiences. Introduction: Pregnancy-related deaths remain a significant public health concern in the US, with approximately 78% occuring during the postpartum period. Latinx birthing individuals may face increased risk of postpartum complications due to barriers in accessing postpartum education that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. Little is known about education on maternal warning signs received among Latinx birthing individuals in the postpartum period. Online education offers valuable access to students who face barriers to attending traditional in-person courses (Canty et. al., 2020; Wiitavaara & Widar, 2025). However, students may experience social isolation, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness, and the stigma surrounding mental health can further intensify these challenges (Lister et al., 2023; Rutkowska et.al., 2022; Smith & Alheneidi, 2023). While programs increasingly adopt IVR to provide consistent clinical learning, there is limited guidance on how IVR impacts knowledge and clinical competence when scaled across multiple sites. By giving every student standardized complex scenarios, IVR supports competency based assessment while expanding simulation access for programs with limited infrastructure.

The purpose of this presentation is to describe how competency-based education (CBE) can be used to intentionally integrate leadership development into entry-level professional nursing education. Competencies are observable, measurable behaviors that reflect not only what students know, but how they apply knowledge and judgment in practice. The limited number of pediatric specialty providers leads to longer lead times when rescheduling, further delaying care. One often cited no-show factor is inconvenient appointment access.
