Land Registry On Blockchain, Mugdha Patil

Master's Projects

The commercial real estate market is a significant part of the global economy, currently dominated by a small set of firms and organizations that lack transparency. The process of property transfers also requires third party intervention which is expensive. In many countries, the process of title transfers is problematic. We are still in the initial steps of digitization, due to the improvement required in terms of use of technology to represent assets in digital forms. Associations Between Recent Intimate Partner Violence And Receipt And Quality Of Perinatal Health Services In Uttar Pradesh, Jay G. Silverman, Ruvani W. Fonseka, Nabamallika Dehingia, Sabrina C. Boyce, Dharmendra Chandurkar, Kultar Singh, Katherine Hay, Yamini Atmavilas, Anita Raj

Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity

Background
India suffers some of the highest maternal and neonatal mortality rates in the world. Intimate partner violence (IPV) can be a barrier to utilization of perinatal care, and has been associated with poor maternal and neonatal health outcomes. However, studies that assess the relationship between IPV and perinatal health care often focus solely on receipt of services, and not the quality of the services received.
Methods and findings
Data were collected in 2016–2017 from a representative sample of women (15-49yrs) in Uttar Pradesh, India who had given birth within the previous 12 months (N = 5020), including use of …

On The Stellar Kinematics And Mass Of The Virgo Ultradiffuse Galaxy Vcc 1287, Jonah S. Gannon, Duncan A. Forbes, Aaron J. Romanowsky, Anna Ferré-Mateu, Warrick J. Couch, Jean P. Brodie

Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity

Here, we present a kinematical analysis of the Virgo cluster ultradiffuse galaxy (UDG) VCC 1287 based on data taken with the Keck Cosmic Web Imager (KCWI). We confirm VCC 1287's association both with the Virgo cluster and its globular cluster (GC) system, measuring a recessional velocity of 1116 ± 2 km s-1. We measure a stellar velocity dispersion (19 ± 6 km s-1) and infer both a dynamical mass ($1.11^{+0.81}_{-0.81} \times 10^{9} \ \mathrm{M_{\odot }}$) and mass-To-light ratio (M/L) ($13^{+11}_{-11}$) within the half-light radius (4.4 kpc). This places VCC 1287 slightly above the well-established relation for normal galaxies, with a …

Developing A Mongodb Monitoring System Using Nosql Databases For Monitored Data Management, Anjitha Karattu Thodi May 2020

Developing A Mongodb Monitoring System Using Nosql Databases For Monitored Data Management, Anjitha Karattu Thodi

Master's Projects

MongoDB is a NoSQL database, specifically used to efficiently store and access a large quantity of unstructured data over a distributed cluster of nodes. As the number of nodes in the cluster increases, it becomes difficult to manually monitor different components of the database. This poses an interesting problem of monitoring the MongoDB database to view the state of the system at any point. Although a few proprietary monitoring tools exist to monitor MongoDB clusters, they are not freely available for use in academia. Therefore, the focus of this project is to create a monitoring system that is completely built …

The goal of my project was to overcome this limit by improving the current storage method used. The solution was derived by making use of IndexArchiveBundles and IndexShards, both of …

Google Scholar Versions: Errors And Implications, Daniel S. Dotson May 2020

Google Scholar Versions: Errors And Implications, Daniel S. Dotson

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

Google Scholar combines versions of what should be the same item into a single record with multiple versions listed and a common citation rate for all versions. However, these versions are not always the same document. A study on the citations of theses and dissertations found unusually high citation rates for some titles. On closer examination, these titles had versions that were other formats, sometimes with additional authors. A close examination of highly cited theses and dissertations revealed that nearly half of the titles were considered versions of other different formats, often much shorter and sometimes multi-authored journal articles.

This article utilizes cheiloscopy to analyze students from the San Jose State University population; including 25 participants: 15 females and 10 males of ages between 18-45 years. Print collection utilized a matte lipstick, evenly applied on the lip, to create an impression using tape and white bond paper. Then, using the Suzui and Tsuchihashi method, researchers classified the lip …
