Background: There is an ongoing need for improved understanding of wildfire plume dynamics. Aims: To improve process-level understanding of wildfire plume dynamics including strong (>10 m s-1) fire-generated winds and pyrocumulus (pyroCu) development. Methods: Ka-band Doppler radar and two Doppler lidars were used to quantify plume dynamics during a high-intensity prescribed fire and airborne laser scanning (ALS) to quantify the fuel consumption. Key results: We document the development of a strongly rotating (>10 m s-1) pyroCu-topped plume reaching 10 km. Climate change and anthropogenic stressors affect the distribution, abundance, and diversity of fish communities across the world. To understand rapidly changing biotic communities, resource managers need a method to quickly and efficiently document temporal and spatial changes in community assemblages across various spatial scales. In this study, we describe the use of new video lander tools to survey fish communities in rocky marine habitats on the continental shelf and slope in California, USA. We evaluate how fish diversity metrics determined by video surveys vary among geographically distinct areas. Eta Carinae underwent the Great Eruption in the 1840s and a Lesser Eruption in the 1890s. Its apparent spectrum, modified by intervening ejecta, the Homunculus and Little Homunculus, continues to evolve but contains information pertaining to events in the 19th century. The LOS spectrum contains narrow absorption velocities, from -122 to -1665 km/s: rungs of a broken ladder caused by shells formed by the interacting winds. Estimated shell origin dates correlate with origin dates of expanding emission structures preceding the Great Eruption. The LOS absorption velocities extend the record post Great Eruption to the Lesser Eruption. We suggest that these …

Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have been increasingly used to predict the state of health (SOH) and remaining useful life (RUL) of batteries. However, conventional GCNs have limitations. Firstly, the correlation between features and the SOH or RUL is not considered. Secondly, temporal relationships among features are not considered when projecting aggregated temporal features into another dimensional space. To address these issues, two types of undirected graphs are introduced to simultaneously consider the correlation among features and the correlation between features and the SOH or RUL. Approximate arithmetic-based homomorphic encryption (HE) scheme CKKS [CKKS17] is arguably the most suitable one for real-world data-privacy applications due to its wider computation range than other HE schemes such as BGV [BGV14], FV and BFV [Bra12, FV12]. However, the most crucial homomorphic operation of CKKS called key-switching induces a great amount of computational burden in actual deployment situations, and creates scalability challenges for hardware acceleration. This study assesses the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in library service delivery at the Ashanti Regional Library. Specifically, it sought to assess the available ICT infrastructure in the library, evaluate the extent of adoption of ICT tools by the library, examine the ICT skill level of staff and users, identify challenges in the usage of ICT infrastructure, and propose measures for improving ICT in the library.
