Use Of Newspapers By Nigerian University Students: The Case Of Delta State University, Anwai Campus, J.U. Igbeka, Christopher O. Ola
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Newspapers remain an important research source, as well as a means of recreation and a source of current news. A study of newspaper use by students in the Faculty of Managment Science and the Faculty of Agriculture at Delta State University, Anwai Campus, used a questionnaire and records of newspaper requests in the library to discover student preferences and their reasons for preferring particular titles. The results show a high rate of use, and a general preference for information in their disciplines and unbiased reporting.

Asian American Literature: Discourses & Pedagogies
A Chinese exile in the United States, H. T. Tsiang (1899-1971) wrote several books in English that represent pioneer works in the canon of Asian American literature. Although few know his work today, Tsiang is one of the earliest and most prolific innovators of Asian American literature, anticipating some of the appropriative methods, formal techniques, and critical strategies that have come to characterize the tradition.

Asian American Literature: Discourses & Pedagogies
This essay intends to explore critical angles and offer pedagogical suggestions for Hwangs play. The first part offers an exploration of the historical and cultural contextualization that has initiated and motivated the production of M. Butterfly, followed by a critical discussion on the plays negotiations of race, gender, sexualities, and ethnicity that aims to offer pedagogical paradigms for teaching this play.

Reading gardens (taman bacaan) are a unique form of community libraries that have sprouted up in Indonesia since the year 2001. They represent the culmination of more than a century of development of both private and government-led efforts to bring books to people. This article surveys the current situation of community libraries in Indonesia, using statistics from the government, as well as a survey conducted among community libraries in the greater Jakarta area. This thesis explores hegemonic discourses associated with the constructs of gender, culture, and transglobal migration from China to the United States and how these discourses might be made visible, resisted, internalized, reappropriated, and queered through live performance. This thesis used the methodology of critical adaptation and adapted Maxine Hong Kingston's novel The Woman Warrior (1976) into a one-woman performance that explored hegemonic social structures of gender, culture, and transglobal migration and the ways in which identity is constructed and performed. This thesis addresses the problematics of identity construction through the acquisition of the French language for immigrants living in France. More specifically, it examines the impact French language acquisition has had and still has on the identity of children of Maghrebian descent and, more generally, its influence on the identity of non-francophone immigrants who arrived in France as adults by examining the novels of two francophone authors: Azouz Begag and Chahdortt Djavann. If I Could Choose: Internalized Homophobia Of The Queer Cinema Movement, James Joseph Flaherty

This thesis offers a critical examination of essentialist and constructionist theories of queer identities, with emphasis on portrayals of internalized homophobia in film. The thesis examines three films released at the latter part of the first New Queer Cinema movement (1991 - 2000) - American Beauty (1999), Urbania (2000) and Velvet Goldmine (1998). Using criticisms of Queer as performativity, as theorized by Judith Butler, in addition to the works of Gregory M. Herek, Harry M. Benshoff, Jeffrey Weeks, and other theorists and academics, the thesis analyzes the use of characterization, mise-en-scene, and spatial and temporal relationships in these films as …
