This research has attempted to examine the role of intellectual property law on the protection of indigenous knowledge in Ilishan-Remo land. The objective of this study is to investigate the state of indigenous knowledge in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State and whether it has any protective measure in place for the protection of indigenous knowledge from misappropriation and illegitimate acquisition.

Considering the poor state of the Nigerian reading culture, this paper went to look into the how school library programmes could be used to promote free voluntary reading thereby reviving the dilapidated reading culture. The main objectives of the study were to find out the school library reading programmes employed in promoting free voluntary reading of secondary school students and examine the influence of school library reading programmes on free voluntary reading. Abstract

This study examined the types of disasters that occur in university libraries and the extent of application of preventive, technological and coping measures in managing these disasters. The study adopted descriptive survey design and the major instrument for data collection was questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The results showed that university libraries in South East, Nigeria had experienced disasters which resulted in adoption of some preventive measures. It was however found that no significant technological and coping measures were applied in managing disasters in the university libraries. The study recommended that policy framework or …

The Demise Of American Musical Theatre Of San Jose, Mike Scott Cymanski

In 2008, American Musical Theatre (AMT) of San Jose filed for bankruptcy after more than 74 years in business. In this thesis, I identify the factors – both internal and external – that contributed to its demise. Interviews with former employees and board members were conducted, and newspaper articles, tax records, and internal documents were examined to explore factors such as management effectiveness, AMT’s relationship with its community, fundraising, the decline of the subscription model, unions, and venue problems. Walt Kuhn: From Spotlight To Studio, The Art Of Show Business, Emily May Mcewan-Upright

Master's Theses

Walt Kuhn, an American artist born in New York, is often overlooked for his contribution to Modern American Art. Kuhn is typically recognized for his organizational and curatorial role in the 1913 Armory Show, but he was also internationally known in his time for his paintings of show people and as a creative director for several vaudeville and circus acts over his lifetime. During his career as a creative director, Kuhn’s artwork evolved from superficial renderings of theatre scenes to psychologically intense tronies of performers. Kuhn and other American artists, including the Ashcan group and Edward Hopper, examined the relationship …
